I had a blue banana seat with a three foot sissy-bar on my bike!!  I also had one of these evel knievel stunt bike things!  it was awesome!!  one day I thought that the longer you cranked it, the faster it would go, I got up at 6am and started cranking that thing like crazy, by brother thought I was up all night doing that!!  I was devastated when it didn't make a difference.

I had something similar to Alph's but had a pull cord on it you kept pulling and pulling and it would keep revving faster and put the cycle down and hit a button and it would take off screaming across the kitchen floor sometimes doing wheelies.

Ahh, the good old days.   :cooldude:

I paid somewhere in the range of $80 for one of those wind up stunt cycles a few years ago off of Ebay.....one of the original ones...Blue launch ramp and white cycle

Wish I had a pic, but back in the late 60s early 70s I built my oldest son a chopper bike, extended forks, apes, banana seat, silver and chrome.  Was the coolest bike around, and he loved to wheely that thing.  Was the envy of all the kids.

Had that same Knievel toy;  there wasn't a curb in my old Dallas neighborhood that little guy didn't use as a ramp.

And I rode the tires off of one of these.. it DID weigh a ton, but oh so comfortable and springy.

All these bike pictures had me thinking about my old Schwinn Stingray... I looked around
some and found this picture, I remember a kid at my elementary school had one...

DIGGER

was once reading about the life and times of Evel Knieval and one of his stories was that when he was a kid there was a railroad track near his house.   He and his buddies just for fun would hide in the deep ditch next to the track and when a car pulled up to wait out a train crossing ......in the middle of all the noise he and his buddies would sneak around the car and steal the hub caps......ha......he was a daredevil even back then.
