You mean oh heavens to murgatroid the gubmint hid the TRUTH from the fine Americans??  :crazy2: I'm shocked I tell you shocked and demoralized and and stunned but the good news is I wuz already pissed off!  :2funny: So the rank and file of folks that are actually shouldering the financial burden have to give up way too much information to find out what the burden is gonna be?? And with typical gubmint efficiency and watching costs on these programs they ought to be saving us tons and tons of many.  :uglystupid2: This is the same regime that HAS NOT had a budget for HOW long????  :crazy2:  :-X Yeah-got that warm fuzzy goin on all over me.  RIDE SAFE.

They want to hook you, make you register before you know what its gonna cost, that way if you back out they still have a file on you containing all your personal info, which is a lot of what this whole pile of smelly stuff is about anyway.  The whole thing is smoke and mirrors, and health acre is just a good tag to sell it to the rubes.

I recently sat thru a local school district meeting held mostly because of new health care rules. Our district has 800 employees [I was surprised it was that many, doesn't have to be]. But, anyway, it has a number of part-time employees such as non-teaching coaches, etc. So, more careful track now has to be kept on employee time which they claim requires at least an extra employee to keep track of this time. Because, if one person inadvertently hits that magical 30 hour number [and they get caught/audited and that part-time employee does not sign up for the insurance or can't prove he /she has other insurance] it cost the district $2000 fine per employee minus 30. Where the 30 figure comes from no one knows, but, thats a lot of frigging money [ $2k X 770] and just ridiculous.
A friend runs a business and has employee health Insurance. The company has now told him that the cost will now triple, catastrophic coverage will no longer be available and deductibles will at least triple. They claim that they have no control and these changes are mandates. He is looking at other companies but I haven't anything about that yet.

If this thing does not get killed or delayed, what people need to do, who cannot afford the coverage, but make too much for free coverage, is refuse to pay the fines.  Make them have to take it.  Do not register, give them no personal info.  Do not answer the door.  Make arrangements to pay, then do not pay.  Move your bank accounts around, hide the money, resist, resist, resist.  Try to minimize any tax return with W4, so there is no refund due you.   Overcome, adapt, improvise.

With the IRS in charge of enforcement, that'll be tough. Those SOBs will do whatever they need to do I fear, like garnish or whatever is available. I'm all for anyone fighting them, but, it could be ugly.
Most folks I talk with have done nothing yet and may not need to, but, most still think the cost will go down. I'm afraid they are sticking their heads in the sand, time will tell I guess.

Heard somewhere today (don't remember from where) that only about 30 thousand people have signed up so far.

Sounds like over priced healthcare is selling like hotcakes.   :D

Well first of all, my advice is contingent upon non payment of the fine NOT being a crime.  I believe it is not a crime.... like tax evasion.  Assuming it is not, what I am saying is make it as difficult for them as possible without hurting yourself in the process.  If this POS goes forward, I'm sure we'll be hearing more on fine avoidance in the near future.

As a straight wage earner, I have always antied up my taxes in full...... I feel very different now.

Well, I'm sitting waiting to see what happens. I've never complained too much about taxes either, but, thats changed.
