well shortly i'll be pulling the rear and do my exam, relube, etc.  the drive shaft and pinion, did we ever get anywhere with that?  concerned if i put too much moly, it will plug something or not enuf moly and it will wear the spline?

I have typically used the honda moly on everything in the rear gear cluster, but i have read of various witches brews there that folks put together.  is that used everywhere, even in the pinion?  ujoint,  etc?

follow the manual...they even specify the amounts needed in grams.

Everyone has their way to do it. I use a good quality water-proof grease. The holes in the drive shaft cup don't seem to work as intended, some get oil to the cup others do not. I just make sure there is grease in the cup and on the drive shaft. The last time I did this work I added a bit of drive oil to the cup along with a new seal.
I always thought everyone put the grease in the female as well as on the male counterparts of both drive systems, but, Chris [ Jeff ?] made it public here which was a good thing for him to state.
Some folks want to make sure they lube everything just as Honda states, thats fine but I don't worry about that too much. I just make sure everything that should be well greased, is.
