San Francisco is NOT a good motorcycle city.

Too over crowded by and NO one knows how to drive in San Francisco.

So if ya got a death wish, give it a try.

In the late 50's when I was assigned to the Bay Area for patrolling on a motor we would park our bikes somewhere along BayShore Blvd and just watch traffic.  That was where our calls would come from.   San Francisco & Oakland officers worked the Bay Bridge.     We had the Golden Gate.    I don't know how they are assigned now.     Would not want to be assigned there now.

It was safer for us that way than trying to patrol anywhere.    We would make a round or 2 of the area but that was it.    During rush hour, which was 4:00 AM to 6:00 PM back then we tried not to get in the tanglement, unless we got a trip.

I don't recall any day that we didn't respond to at least 8 calls a day.    I'd lay $$$$ that today's traffic it would be 30+ calls a day.

I do know they have 12 more officers assigned in San Francisco alone now.

However. Have you ever been to San Francisco? It's a great town. Seafood, sourdough, great bars, and cable cars. Irish coffee was invented there and it's the home of Girardelli Chocolate. Might not be the best choice for a motorcycle rally though.

How about Oakland?

However. Have you ever been to San Francisco? It's a great town. Seafood, sourdough, great bars, and cable cars. Irish coffee was invented there and it's the home of Girardelli Chocolate. Might not be the best choice for a motorcycle rally though.

Was where I took my big motor lay down on spilled oil on the corner in a chase.

My Brothers in the Cruiser's caught them, they both got charged with Attempted Murder and served a few years in Folsom for it.

As I said, I was joking about SF for Inzane. It probably needs to remain close to the demographic center of VRCC members and that's someplace back east.

Sorry about your wreck, I trust you're all recovered (this happened long ago, right?).

Maybe it's not the best for motorcycling but I do like SF as a destination. There's lots to do, lots to see, great bars, great food, cable cars, sport fishing, whale watching and truly spectacular people-watching. I've not been there on a bike but I suspect that once out of the city there's some great motorcycle roads as well.

There's also a huge difference between riding anywhere for s**ts & giggles than there is riding an area for work. Any time the 'w' word becomes involved there's a reduction of grin factor. Even when you love your job.

By the way, what was your suggestion for the next incarnation of Inzane's location?

Personally, I'd love to see it in Kerrville, TX, but it'd need to be moved to spring or fall, too damn hot in the summer...

Location don't make a difference to me.

Whereever it is I'll try to see if I can get the required O2 needs.

Since I went on O2 none of the places IZ has been I can't get the required needs.

I thought about renting a motorhome so as to be able to carry my recharging equipment, MAN THAT GETS EXPENSIVE REAL QUICK.

What about Cookeville, TN, very bike friendly place, right off I-40 half way between Nashville and Knoxville. lots of good riding in every direction. Just an idea.

No worries!! It's only 1400 miles one way AND I could visit my long-lost cousin in Ashton!

That's 600 round-trip miles less than to Asheville NC. . .
