Need a little insight for a ride next year.  A group of co-workers, all vets or active duty, get together every year for a ride.  Mostly east coast and southern states so far.  Next year is the outer banks area...and I was looking for advice on a few good routes I could scout.  Any and all suggestions are welcome.  Steve

I can assist, being local.

I ride to 22553/22401 often/monthly.

I'd take Rt. 1 to Doswell, then 30E to West Point, cross the bridge and continue 30 to 64, then 664 and 17S (to Eliz. City).

Once down here, (OBX), I recommend leave Manteo, a little 64E, then Old64 to Newfoundland to Soundside Rd, to Columbia, back onto 64, onto 94, then Cutoff Rd, then Bay Post Office Rd to Deep Creek Rd to Pea Ridge Rd to 32N, cross bridge, up to 17N and go to downtown Edenton to eat / sightsee.

Finish the loop by going to Eliz City, catch 158E (a little construction going into Camden County) then 168S to the OBX.  The top section of Camden County is rural, so taking 17 past Eliz City and heading east from South Mills, 343S is a nice 2 lane alternate.  Still end up 158/168 to OBX.

We do variations of that loop with small groups a few times/year.  Saturdays on 168S can be really heavy flow in season (Apr-Oct).

When you head down this way, send me a PM and I'll give you my phone# and perhaps join you!
I can also furnish/tow a recovery trailer (shop/tools/lift) should that need arise next year.

I also like the 295S to US460E to 13/32S to left at the ABC store onto Folley Rd. to 158E to 17S
route.  Less Interstate.

Thank you Earl.  I will let you know when I come down to scout the routes.
