I totally agree with Elvis being the king. I was sad to read his popularity is fading as we get older. The article said the younger generations do not appreciate what he did for the music world. As Elvis fans are getting older and dieing off they are not being replaced at a fast enough pace by the younger generation. I guess that's life.

Yeah it's kinda the way things go. Think about it; how well know are the popular music stars of the 30's? But in 20 years Elvis will be in a better position than they are now. Elvis still gets played on the radio and always will. Sirius even has a channel dedicated to the King.

I think it's because jackson has more relevance with more younger folks and he is more recently departed. :-\

The list was ordered by who brought in how much money.  What people spend their money on is not always, or even often, governed by who is the best.

I do wonder whether the money amounts were normalized or left at monetary value specific to the time.
