N/E Illinois ride

 Left today it was 34 degrees. Long johns were the only extras needed beyond the jacket and gloves. Good ride and stopped for a coffee and apple fritter (did not really need the coffee , but need something to wash the fritter down) . Went and did a visit and rode till I had a meeting. 39 degrees when I finally had to stop.

   The apple fritter is a treat that I would drive a long distance for!

You definitely are more eager to tackle the cold than I am.  I don't mind 40 degrees but anything below that for anything over 15 miles and I am too cold to handle it much longer.  Am sure if I put another layer on bottom (mainly knees) and warmer boots and an extra layer of socks and heavier/warmer gloves,  I'd be fine though. 

Just north of you in southern WI and doesn't look to be getting any warmer all of next week either with high's pushing 40 is all.  Last 3-4 years I remember riding until last week of November highs were abnormally warm into the 60's even.  I'd settle for a 50-55 degree high right about now.

34 eh? that is getting close to my current low temp limit that I've decided I'm too old to drive in
if it's below 30, I'm driving the dually

I watched some people ride today, does that count.   I like forty and above for my rides and I would rather wear a hat, gloves, and a hoodie than T Shirt. Eighty is just about the high for me to be comfortable.

Was there a particular good place you got the apple fritter, or you just like them in general?

 Country Doughnuts in Crystal Lake has the best I have ever had. Most I find to be hard and excess glaze on them. Dunkin Doughnuts used to have a good one but stopped as they said they were to expensive. They made a limited quanity  , but always sold out.
