Well , it finally happened to soon. Snow in N/E Illinois. If there is no salt on the road , then I will still ride. The grass is covered and the roads only look wet here. South and east of us people had there accidents early to avoid the rush. It just amazes me each year how many accidents happen at the first snowfall. A couple years ago I was riding and a snow squall hit. I was behind a van I could not pass. She was doing 25 in a 50 zone. I was on the bike. When I could I rode up next to her , looked at the white knuckle driver , waved to get her attention and then passed. Yes, it was not nice of me , but WTH.

same here, grass is covered but roads are dry in southern WI.  Sure hope they didn't spread that darn salt crap on the roads since roads were just wet, not sticking yet.

Really should just give it up and put the bike up only 2-3 weeks at most to go before the real chill and snow comes anyways.

Got the white crap yesterday too...  Stuck on the grass and cars, and then we went in to the deep freeze  :o

18 degrees when I left for work this morning...  I'm done  >:(

Took a ride Sunday afternoon (the Packers were getting spanked), filled up and added 'StarTron'.  Took the long way home to get the good stuff in to the carbs.  The beast is parked, and will not see any more miles till spring...  Very sad  :'(

Just when the highway straightened out for a mile
And I was thinkin' I'd just cruise for a while
A fork in the road brought a new episode
Don't you know...

Conform, go crazy, or ride a motorcycle...

22º this AM and everything was white. There was hard slippery water underneath that white stuff too. The tow services are making money today, glad I'm not in that business any more.

And for you folks that continue to INSIST on using that four letter word that starts with an S-ya'll will wait til 2 weeks AFTER it's good to ride again as punishment fer using that nasty azz wurd.  :2funny: RIDE SAFE.

Still hope??  :-\

We got some flurries yesterday.

Enough to turn the grass white.

When the temp went in the pot, currently 19*.

The wet roads got slippery in spots.

I think the DMPD said they responded to 55 situations yesterday.

You know, the ones who forgot how to drivce on snow/ice/wet roads.

;D My grandfather would sneak into my room and grab me out of the crib, bundle me up and stick me up in the cab. I was hauling chains before I was big enough to pick them up. I used to love going out in the nastiest weather, the worse the better. Folks used to drive off into the lake on a regular basis, try spending years pulling people and vehicles out of 33º water. Loved it. Now I wonder what the heck I was thinking. We change after a while, after-al, I was once a democrat.  ;D  Right now, as soon as hunting season is over, I'm looking forward to heading south, sitting in the boat, in my flip-flops, catching some snapper [ I now like it warm].

Yeah, we also had some heavy white stuff this morning all over the grass. Then I realized it was dew on the golf course from the heavy fog.  :2funny: Was chatting with my sis-in-law(lives in Columbus, OH) last evening while the wife and I were sitting on the front porch sipping wine and having a snack....in shorts and T-shirt. I described our scenario to her....she's not a very nice lady at times and besides, I'm sure the phone won't fit up there.  ;D

Ditto here.....

I go to work at 4 AM.... was snow and ice on the car and I couldn't find the damn scraper in the dark!!!!

To add insult to injury... I have a LARGE Mulberry tree in my yard that overhangs the driveway and patio....

When I left at 4 AM the drive had a few crunchy leaves on it.......

When I got home at 10 AM... it was covered in heavy green leaves......

Damn tree does the same thing every year. Hangs onto its leaves until the first real heavy frost and then they are all down at once. Tree was full yesterday and bare today... Luckily we can dump our leaves at the curb and the city sucks/scoops em up.

I just got done moving them to the curb.  >:(

Cheer up guys were having some light rain here today and sending it your way. When it gets there it should be a few inches of snow. You can get out with the kids and make snowmen. ;D ;D ;D

I was loading my truck in San Diego and I KNOW we had snow in Colorado where I lived at the time. I had just come from a brisk dip in the ocean got showered and changed and called the wife unit. She wanted to know what I had been up to.  Told her she REALLY did NOT want to know!!  ;D She insisted so I told her.  :uglystupid2: At the time I told her she had 2' or better of that white stuff on the ground and on the pick up AND it was 12 degrees.  :2funny: I had like ZERO idea she knew HOW to use them wurds.  :-X And-John-like yer phone I told her the truck WOULD NOT fit there.  :tickedoff: And then she said-let ME try.  :-\ Got home like 3 weeks after that and she was STILL mad at me.  :'( RIDE SAFE.

For you two "Brothers of the North" here is what snow flurries look like in southeast Texas this time of the year. Ride safely

Got a couple acres in the woods if yall wanta come pitch a tent and ride  for the winter.LOL

If you are riding  and it is a must that you keep your eyes on the road, you are riding too fast.

Pepmyster

Now this is getting interesting........

Red Diamond ,  I love you brother! You do not have to rub it in. I was stationed in Texas (Fort Hood) in 1966 thru 1969 and had a bike there. A Honda Scrambler 305. I put a lot of miles on and off road there. We saw snow in I think 67 that shut down the Fort and Killeen Texas. There was about 1 to 2 inches . I rode the bike to town for coffee. There was no traffic. Most everyone was parked in the ditches.
