reminds me of when I drove for werner enterprise, I was fueling up in west memphis AR at the flying J and some dude walks up to me panhandling.  he obviously wasn't starving he was younger then me in better shape and wearing clean, fairly new jeans and a matching jean jacket. he had brand new work boots, that had never seen work, and he was hitting me up for spare change. I'm dressed in trashy old sweats and shoes with holes in them, werner pays for crap, I told him I should be asking him for money

Not the worst truckstop, but not very good.  Terrible neighborhood.

There is a TA in city of Atlanta.  Waaaayyy worse!  Only stopped once to swap a few boxes from another company trailer. We left as soon as swap was made.  About two months later, a truck driver was murdered there getting out of his truck!

I forget which one, as it was more than a decade ago we stopped.  TA in Riverside, CA, you get to wave the hookers and drug dealers on by as they walk the lot!  Yuck.

I NEVER stopped in a big city unles I absolutely had to, I preffered not to be rudely awakened  by sirens and gun fire (or knocks on the door at 3:00 am )

Hmm, interesting. Haven't heard about those, I'll have to look them up. About the only numbers I know about are #1  and #2 !
