Accelerating and trying to merge with traffic can be dangerous.  I ran into a barrel on the side doing the same thing.

  transition is a high long sweeper ... people fly  I-10 westbound ramps onto I-17 north and  south  .
long black tire skids along the concrete barriers , and I mean for yards , are something to see . sometimes there are big chunks gone .
just glad I was never around to watch it happen .
I remember one  before I left Arizona was a ford crown Victoria headed west I-10 onto south I-17 , dad , mom , and all the kids when OVER the four feet tall , steel reinforced concrete barriers , fall  the 120 feet onto south bound I-17 traffic ...
landing up side down .       ??? 
Arizona highway patrol state trooper estimated speed at 100 mph plus ...
