Had my first one today at the spry old age of 49.  Was a breeze and everything just fine.

MAN UP AND GET IT DONE!

I enjoy getting a pretty nurse to pull my finger afterward !   ;D

Patrick, I did that to my friend's wife once. I had a whoopee cushion, blew it up and put it behind my back against the wall. Then when she was walking by I started rubbing my hand, telling her it felt like my knuckle needed to pop. She asked which one, I stuck out a finger, she pulled, I leaned back and......rrrrriiipppp!  She darn near cleared the kitchen counter and everyone howled with laughter.

Ya John, its really fun when you get to do it for real !

I have an appointment on the 17th to have my first one done.  :(
I have been avoiding it for so long...but made a promise to my wife I would do it before the end of this year.

I had mine done for the second time a couple of weeks ago.   It's a lot easier now.  And I'm still clean. :)
DARE TO BE DIFFERENT

I'm due for another one here in 2014.  My first one was done while I was awake and watching the screen..... that one was not pleasant, the worst and I had major gas.  Second one was under twilight, and they must have pressed it all out before I came to.... I was fine afterwards when I came to.

Git R Done......

I had my second one  month at 67. Probably will be my last unless issues arise. I've found the procedure easy.  The unpleasant part is the prep the day before.

Can't get one done till after I'm 50...my insurance won't allow it.

I thought there were exceptions if there is a family history.

In memory of Laser Pat

GET IT DONE.

Thanks Britman.  :) I read the poem you wrote about Laser Pat often, it really helps me out.  12/17 would have been Pat's 62nd birthday, so T-Bird, that's a great tribute to him.  Hope you come out clean as a whistle.

I wish I could take credit for the words.

I just adapted it to suit.

That's true...but if your doctor wants it done due to you having problems or family history of problems, insurance will usually approve it.  My dad had a history of polyps  and I am losing my supplemental insurance at the end of the year, so my doctor got it approved early.

Pat was a big part of my decision to get it done Deb,  It is fitting it will be on his birthday.
I'm glad to see you posting, are you getting much saddle time on the shadow?  We need pictures of you & the bike.  :cooldude:

Ya I know you went through.
I have whats called Crohns disease and have one done about every 10 months.
The toughest part is the prep for it.
They give you the Michel Jackson special and do what needs to be done.
Make sure you get it done.

Deb - 12/17 IS Pat's 62nd birthday.  He's still with us, a little bit of his wisdom and wit in every person he met.

As Britman said, Pat made sure to let everyone know the importance of doing this procedure.  To the last, he thought of others.

How about posting that poem, now that Pat has been brought up, I'm sure we could all use it.  It was an honor to have met him, and you as well Deb.  I hope all is well and you are wearing out that bike you bought.
