All kinds of people have lost their licenses because they may be prone to seizures, they may be blind, they may be quadriplegic or autistic.  If this guy has a sickness put him in the hospital.

I say this as a man who had some wrist slaps while drinking and driving but NEVER a D U I/D W I. And believe me when I say I should have gotten a D U I/D W I. Either the Good LORD was watching over me or I wuz lucky or both. I prefer the former over the latter. The public as a whole and a lot of the L E Os seem to go a little too easy on drunk drivers I M H O. I don't believe we are hard enough on drunk drivers. First offense 5 years and do it all. You kill someone when you are drunk-life with out the possibility of parole. 2nd offense 25 years and do it all. HARSH you say-what if it was one of your family members that was maimed or killed?? Sound harsh now? RIDE SAFE.

I agree with everything that has been said. I posted this video because I thought it was a good prank and at the same time they were trying to break this man of his alcohol problem. If you notice the first thig he asked about was his wife and daughter. That tells me there is a little hope for him to over come this problem. I first heard about this today on the bob and tom show and they were talking with the comedian that done this, he is the doctor in ine video.

Perhaps someone would be kind enough to explain to me what happens if you are caught DUI in the US.

I watched an Australian police programme on the TV and saw someone get stopped for DUI and he was given a $100 fine and something called demerit points, and was allowed to walk home.

In the UK, if you are pulled for DUI you are given a roadside breath test. If it is over the legal limit, you are arrested, handcuffed and taken into custody.
Once at the police station you're made to blow into a calibrated machine to check the alcohol  level in your system.
If you are over the legal limit you are put in a cell until you are below. Once below the limit you're then charged with driving a vehicle while intoxicated.
Within a few days you are put before a judge where you get a few £100 fine, your licence taken away and banned from driving for at least 14 months. Get caught again and the ban is for multiple years and sometimes jail time.

The shortest licence holder in the UK was 4 hours. He passed his driving test, his boss took him out for a lunchtime meal with drinks. He was stopped on his way home four hours later and was over the limit. Bye bye licence.

The guy in the video would have done jail time in the UK, long ago.

Well, I don't know first hand, but it can vary from municipality, to municipality, from state to state in the US. I have a hard time imagining that he has a license, but some people slip through the cracks. There was a time 20 - 30 years ago or more that DUIs or DWIs were not prosecuted as severely in a lot of areas.

In WI, it is a pat on the back and get to go back on the roads for their 6th or 7th drunk driving and attempt yet again to kill someone.

I see all the time reading of drunks in WI having their 5-7th drunk driving arrest and yet the idiots in charge still allow them to drive. 

I say 3 strikes and you are done driving and suspend license for 1 year and 1 year in jail.  ONLY that will stop them from driving illegally just like the 1,000's of drivers in WI not having mandatory car insurance either. 

That video was funny as heck and loved it yet the drunk didn't seemed shocked or didn't care and still thought it was funny.  Time to pull the keys and lock him up for good.

The 5th amendment prevents forced testimony (speaking), not forced collection of physical evidence.

They can take your fingerprints, hair, fingernail scrapings, photo, and blood without your consent.

The military has been doing this for many years.  Usually when told it will be done with or without your consent or cooperation, folks do not deep fighting, the needle can break off.  In which case, they start over.  In the military, the accused also gets the additional charge of failure to follow a lawful order, which is given before blood is drawn.

Driving is a privilege, not a right, and as far as I know all States have an implied consent rule that you agree to in exchange for a driver's license. On the other hand, a properly calibrated breathalyzer (the better one at the station, if not the portable one in the cruiser) is more than sufficient evidence to convict almost anyone, without blood corroboration.  However, if they won't blow, it cannot be used. 

Drawing blood from repeat offenders seems........... just.

My nephew after 8 years in Army Special Forces lost his spot because of a D U I/D W I. He WAS in the process of making it a career. Not 100 % sure but he told me it was an Honor Code violation. RIDE SAFE.

DUI can be hell on a security clearance.  In the USAF, operators (cops, missile silo guys, pilots, anything to do with nukes) were on a PRP (personal reliability program).  A DUI was looked at not only as as crime (which it is), but also as a strong telltale sign you were unreliable, unstable, upset, having personal problems.  You could also bust your PRP if you appeared overly (unreasonably) happy all the time. 

To err is human, to forgive divine.......... but forgiveness was definitely not SAC policy.

AFFLUENZA!! That's the defense for killing four people and paralyzing a friend.
