Years ago , dad would take the dog with on Saturday to do his errands (without fail) , and the dog knew the schedule.
One Saturday , dad left the dog home  (I do not remember why) and the dog barked and howled when dad left. Dad got home in the afternoon and went to take a nap. He laid in bed and smelled dog crap. He pulled the blanket back and on his side of the bed , the dog crapped and pulled the blanket over it. If it wasn't so funny , I think the dog would have died that day.

bet the dog got to go along the next time.  ;D   when our silver lab was a pup we would leave for work and every day when we got home there would be a pile of crap just inside the door of the garage. Of course i'd open the door and smear it all over the new laminate. a few days outside all day cured him.
