Being new to the Valkyrie, and the tires already on mine are Dunlop Elite's, I have a tire pressure question.  The consensus seems to be that low tire pressures will soon wear out my tires.  I've read more junk about the different tires and their pressures that my head is about to explode.  Soooo for me right now I'm going with 40/40psi and hoping for best performance and tire wear.  New tire on the rear and about 40-60% left on the front.  Anyone have experience with these tires and want to "BEAT THE DEAD HORSE" some more?

I read claim of 20K miles with these tires inflated as such.  Seems like a too good to be true kind of dream!

I have some little exp with Avons, but have a lifetime of exp with motorcycle tires.

Question.  What is the MAX PSI printed on your front and rear sidewalls?

It is my exp that running close to MAX PSI (within 2-3lbs) gives maximum tire life (thou maybe a bit harder ride).  40 is OK, but 42-44 may be better, if not at or over the MAX PSI.

They printed the smallest possible readabilty which on the front tire says 41psi cold.  Haven't read the rear tire yet.

If You Have Avon's They Are Not Elite's,They Are Cobra's or Venom's. Dunlops  are The Elite's. Just Saying,Check The Brand,They Are Two Different Tires.

The last set of Elite III's I had gave me almost 17,000 miles. I think I was running 42 rear, and 40 front.

Do not dwell in the past, do not dream of the future, concentrate the mind on the present moment.

42 front, 45 rear is what I put in them.
I can't help about the shape I'm in
I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
