First ride of 2014

Have been working on my project KLR650 barn find this morning. She's now finally running so I am heading out for a 1st ride of the year too.

Crummy weather down this way. Was going to head up to Welaka to a place called Shrimp R Us and have lunch but looks like its a no go.

Put a few extra miles on for me please.  My first ride of the year was more  of a walk, behind the two wheeler with the auger on the front.  4" of sn%w last nite with another 3-6 expected tonite before the lake effect monster starts up tomorrow.

Today, I rode the Oldwing south into deep Weeksville, took a bunch of twists riding most of that peninsula, headed west to Nixonton, Halls Creek to 17N up to Morgan's Corner, gassed up and rode to South Mills and 343 south to Camden and headed east to the house.

Got home just in time to take a work phone call and help my wife unload the groceries. 

I took the Valkyrie up to Spotsylvania last Saturday to see my sister and Mom at my brother's house. Came back home that night. Traffic was heavy but fast. I normally hit Rt 30 @ Doswell and miss 295 and a'lot of I64, but I was content with all the living space the cars were giving me, so I took the fast way. 420 miles round trip.

4+ inches of snow outside......

We got about 3" of new snow last night and today so far.

I blew the drive and walks off, but it is still snowing.

Supposed to snow till tomorrow afternoon.

Anyway that is the current forecast.

So my 1st ride of 2014 was on a 26hp John Deere lawn tractor with a snow blower attachment.

Left the house this morning about 11 and just now getting back home drove out tword Lynchburg Tennessee just tooled around with the wife on back .... Weather was a bit cold but got up to about 50 .... Only put about 150 miles or so on her today ....

I found an old set of Tourmaster gloves, added silk glove liners, they worked great. It got up to
about 50 down here in North Georgia today too...

Had to put the liner in my jacket and dig my heavy cold weather gauntlets out but I managed to get about 50 miles in today running errands... It was mighty cold though, didn't even get up to 70 today, was 65 at the highest!

40 when I left the house and 37 when I got back. ANDANDAND it are gonna get cold colder and the moisture in yer nose will freeze in a day or two iffin yer outside. RIDE SAFE.

Here In Dayton it will get into the 40's and sometimes 50's once or twice a month all winter. 40's today did 30 miles  felt great . Come on spring.

Don't some of these guys make ya wanna puke?! Ride all year, WTH.  I just walked through 11' of snow this morning to get to my plow truck. Then the snowblower, I hate that thing. Remember what I said about them 365 day a year riders? I hope they poop their pants!!!

I have a broken arm and wont even get her out till March.
