Took a trip to the St. Louis Zoo today

With winter break coming to an end soon I decided to take the girlfriend over to the Zoo and Science Center today. I haven't been to either of them since grade school. With temperatures in the single digits this morning I wasn't expecting to see much wildlife out and about. I was surprised to see most of the large kitty cats out playing in the snow, as well as the rams, camels, and larger birds.

I forgot my phone in my pickem up truck, here are some pics my significant other took during our hike.

We use to take our kids 2x per year at the Milwaukee zoo when they have their free zoo days.  In the winter/spring is better less people around.  We also had to walk aways away since am too cheap to pay 10 bucks to park in their lot. 

I loved the huge fish tanks and monkey enclosures all inside, pretty neat.  We always got there soon after they opened and stayed most of the day well into 4-5 hours at least.  Tons of animals and stuff to see.

STL Zoo has always been free. Parking is 10$ as well to park close. Free if you want to walk a ways. It does cost to see certain exhibits and shows. There is a children's zoo section that even cost money. A lot of areas were close due to ice on the walk ways. Still loved going this time of year, not a sole in the place, felt like we were the only ones there. Just not to much animal activity outside, especially the large African mammals. I only go to see the reptiles and primates. I could sit and watch the apes for hours.
