I have seen this a couple of times before and it is just as moving to me now as it was the first time that I saw it.  Yes, the military and its civilian commanders were much different in thought and deed than those of today.  I have personally seen what the military of the day would do to help those in dire need, more than once.  Thanks for posting...Jim
