My opinion!!  Good way to trash yourself, your life and others and may be, put your future in the toilet and lose your means of support.  Good way for you to track you and your activities.  May be a good way to run into preves. and other selection of whacko''s.

For me - It's get registered with a FB page, then don't use it AT ALL.  You have to be a registered user to read the fb pages of liberals who trust the govt and big business or don't care that every facet of their lives that they are blabbing about on fb - and more, that can be extrapolated - is being saved in databases especially the big new one in UT, and all this info is now and will be soon even more, coming back to bite them in the ass.  And don't post on any of those pages you surf, those posts are also mined.  So I can get the latest blogs of family and friends, keep up on their news, and feel sorry for them and their ignorence and trust of the govt.  But on the otherhand - pretty much all of them voted for the obummer - TWICE.  And are responsible for the mess we're in now.  So I don't feel too sorry for them.

I would put a sizeable wager that you either have, or have had a Facebook account.  It provides yet another venue for those who have an insatiable need to be heard, and that has you written all over it!!

I particularly enjoy it.  I just retired from the Marine Corps in June and was away from family for the majority of the time.  It provided a means to see a bit more of what's going on in my family, watch nieces/nephews grow up, etc.

Yup, there are some narcissists on there, but they exist on this site, too.

I don't post the kind of stuff I see on facebook.  And it's a known venue for data mining.  Even by the host.

I don't know why I've got an account (a whole three friends on it), but without it I wouldn't know about the vacations my brother takes!  it's funny 'cause he never has money, but he can always go to the tropics twice a year!!  he doesn't ever tell anyone 'cause we're all sick of hearing how he doesn't have money, but his daughter always posts about it on facebook!!  she also doesn't have money, but she seems to always have enough to go to EVERY SINGLE BLACKHAWKS GAME when they're home games.   

the other thing about facebook is you catch people in a lie!  my other brother (the asshole in Arizona) lied to us about things not being at my mothers house.  he moved mom into a nursing home, then took all the money and valuables she had in the house, then his kids started to brag about the "nice things" mom and dad got from grandma!!

so you see, there is a "good thing" about facebook!!

I love facebook. Back in touch with old buddies from the Navy back in the 80's. Joined some good groups and it is fun...

I aint got nothing to hide, don't care who sees what to be honest...

A right cynical bunch on here though...your no more protected on a forum than you are on facebook..

The only thing I ever say is if you aint happy for your own granny to see it, don't post it..simples.  Good job my Gran was pretty broad minded...lol....
