LOOKING FOR A MOM N POP MOTEL IN VICKSBURG. MS AREA as well as Memphis.

My group is planning a 3 day ride from Baton Rouge, LA to Memphis, TN via hwy 61 this June, and i'm charged with finding some accomodations for everyone. We'll spend one night in Vicksburg then one night in Memphis. Priceline, expedia etc. dont have any good reviews on the hotels in the Vicksburg area. I'm trying to locate a small motel in vicksburg for one night and perhaps even a small mom n pop hotel for the nite in Memphis.
If anyone is from this general area that can recommend some decent accomodations for a group of around 12 bikes, i'd be most appreciative.

i dont recomend Memphis at all...find a motel about 20 miles out,,,

Very helpful site. Just put in the town.
Biggest drawback is they give you ONLY the town you enter, not surrounding areas.
Sometimes its good to have a map handy and enter surrounding towns from the larger areas and hunt around a bit....

I'm assuming you mean Vicksburg, MS.

If so, off of Gigs link there are 7 that come up for Vicksburg, MS.

As far as Memphis goes, Stay the hell out of WEST Memphis, bad area.

When I went through there a few years ago on Hot Rod Power Tour, a bunch of us staid about 40 miles South of Memphis, in Tunica, MS.

+1 on avoiding Memphis unless you are packing and hire security to watch your bikes overnight.

don't stay in Memphis....go east to collierville, or stay in Hernando, MS

How about Southaven? It's just south of memphis and still close to everything.

vicksburg is out. its just gonna be memphis now. i found some rooms in Southaven, MS with a good user rating. Wondering if this was far enough from the crime ridden city.
Tunica may be a little far as we want to do Beale St. and Graceland. Robinsonville looks ok?  ???
tried the mom n pop motel site. It's nice but doesnt have reviews. I don't want to get stuck in a fleabag motel. I'm looking for 6-8 rooms.

Magnolia has a place on Pepper Chase drive. its almost next door to Southern Thunder Harley.
Its the one I'm really looking at.

ok, i'm sorry, I didn't know there was a Magnolia Inn over there also, yes that would be right off Church Rd.
It is considered Southaven, but is a bit further South of Memphis which is a good thing if spending the night.
