Can someone please give me the part # for the headlight replacement that I can buy at the local auto parts ? I checked Jeff K's site and did'nt see it but I'm bad to overlook things

Joe,
You want a (H-4 type, 12 volt60/55watt). This will come by many bulb manufacturers.

 I bought a Sylvania SilverStar H-4, still a 60/55 watt bulb, but it's 35% brighter, 30% more down the road, 35% wider beam of light. Supposed to be "whiter and brighter"
 I like it, my riding buds notice a differance too. Available in local parts stores. It is not any hotter, therefore safe on your plastics

If you get the Silverstar Max, I believe they're more vibration resistant and have a longer rated life.

There is an issue using too high a wattage bulb without adding a relay..Honda tried to save as much money as they could, some of that money was in wire.. Without looking and relying on memory[which isn't a good thing anymore] I think I'm using an H4[9300] with a rating of 60/90 without a relay.. I don't use the high beams very much.. Some fellas had a 'smoke' issue when trying to use bulbs in the 100+ range..

I know it's riding season right now, but when you get around to it a relay for the headlight is a good idea. It takes the heat off the starter switch. The first owner of my standard added a light bar and cooked the switch so bad it melted and couldn't be revived (after I bought it of course). I added relays to both lighting circuits for peace of mind.
