No not my nose.

Danica, she may be only 5 feet tall, but I believe she can win the race.

Daytona 500, the most well known race in the world. Except for Indy and the Go Cart Cars.

GOD SAVE THE UNITED STATES from the democrats is my prayer.

WIN ? Only if all dropped out.

I might not give the answer that you want me to

Sorry Al but, she's gonna have to prove it before I'll believe it.
If she was a guy, she'd have already been long gone.   Her looks is what keeps her on that team.
Just my opinion but, I think I'm right.   She's gonna have to prove me wrong.

Average Finish last year,,,,,16th.

She beat Carl Edwards last year at Martinsville.

She will get better, I don't like her, but I wish her the best.

I am sticking with my pick. Maybe Jimmy Johnson will run out of gas again.

Rubbing is Racing.

I will leave it at that.

She WILL NOT get a checkered flag again this season.  :2funny: Ain't gonna happen!!  :cooldude: Not in cup. RIDE SAFE.

The man that drove this machine, won Daytona 7 times.

Winston Cup Champion 7 times.

Without, Power Steering, no air conditioned helmets.

Owner Operator, and just one car, and he drove it.

He is really a legend.

Never be another like him.

Richard Petty.

GOD SAVE THE UNITED STATES from the democrats is my prayer.

Would love to see it, but doubt it will happen. Don't believe it has anything to do with her sex. I think it has more to do with where she came from. How many x indy or Formula drivers have been really successful in cup? I can think of only one. Smoke. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that when indycars rub, you can be sure its a disaster. Therefore I wonder if the drivers that are brought up in that series, are never really comfortable with all the bumping and rubbing in cup. T be fast, you have to be comfortable. I don't really know who runs her program, and who is onher team. What would be interesting would be seeing her in Jimmie Johnson's car with all the same support people for a season.

Tailgate Tommy

She could win, but I'd bet she won't. Besides, Dale Jr. is going to win!

Flame suit is firmly in place...

cookiedough

she's not horrible, but middle of the pack.

Sure is sweet to look at though, very easy on the eyes.

I'd let her 'steer' and 'drift'  my shifter anyday of the week.

Clark

gonna be interesting to see how Kurt Bush does this year in ona Tony's cars..now before ya get yer dander up I don't much care for him.. he's not near as good an ambassador for the sport as his brother who just happens to be my driver is.. but  Kurt does have some drivn skills. STAY TUNED..GO KYLE..GO KYLE..

Hook#3287

Not only did she win the pole last year in Daytona, she came in 8th. She led the race for 5 or 6 laps.

I'm sure the other 35 starters of the 500 did not just let her be ahead of them at the checkered because she's pretty.  Did her looks win her the pole?  I don't think so.

The girl can race AND she happens to be hot (when they do the make over for the commercials.)

She was winning the Nationwide in Montreal before either the Aussie or Canuck bumped her off.

I can't tell you if the Kings statement was for publicity or what, but the same could be said for quite a few drivers out there.

Jimmie Johnson is my racer and not just because of his racing.  I had the pleasure of meeting him in person and he's a class act.

But I enjoy watching  Danica and always wish her the best.

yeah she does have talent. As far as Richards statement it is no doubt true for a lot of drivers. I think it would be great for the sport if she ever wins. :cooldude:

If she would just get a breast augmentation, the whole field would pull over and she would be champion.

Daytona 500, the most well known race in the world. Except for Indy and the Go Cart Cars.

Let's not lat a little hyperbole disguise facts.

Most F1 races are watched by more people.

Most other countries have no idea what NASCAR ia apart from some to whom it's left, straight, left, straight etc etc.

Anywho I'll be riding and can watch the crash repeats later.

In Europe the real racing stars ride motorcycles.

Go to another country and ask them if they have heard of Daytona.

The answer is usually yes, in the modern era.

They even had a Frenchman from Nice, France, racing a truck. At Daytona last night.

F-1 is that some kind of Indy thing. LOL

I know those are the cars that race in the rain with no wipers. Count me out.

I can't believe this thread has gone on this long without a swimsuit pic of Danica. Who cares if she can drive?

I ,for one, want to thank JimC for his insight. :cooldude:

While it's true F1 has a large international fan base, and I include myself in it, F1 and Nascar being compared to each other, is like apples to oranges.

IMHO, F1 is both more exciting and more boring.  There is nothing like standing next to the F1 track when the earth vibrates on the starting lap.  But waiting for much to happen after that is un-eventful.

Once the leaders are established, it's pretty much over, especially if Vettel is running.  Maybe Alonso and Hamilton will make a race of it running for second, but race over once the German kid gets out in front.

The racing is two completely different disciplines and few (none) have been successful at both.  F1 drivers (Montoya, Pequet, Villeneuve) that have moved over to Nascar have had little success, with Montoya winning 2 races out of over 250 starts and is mostly known for hitting the track dryer at Daytona.

I don't believe anyone went from nascar to F1.  Nor could they, what with the training and equipment knowledge needed to run an F1 car.  But as it's been proven, jumping into a nascar ride ain't so easy either.

GO JIMMIE!!!

Mario Andretti, F-1 Champ, and has won the Daytona 500. There yah go true talent.

A J Foyt in Nascar ran the circuit quit often, don't know if he won anything. But he probably did.

He almost cut my Dad's leg off as he slid into his pit wrong, Gas man has a load on his shoulder

hard to come back with 98 lbs. committed to the gas operation. He quit that team that day.

A J was an A-Hole, but a great driver.

Danica is like a boxer who has no KO power and tries to win solely on points. If it comes down to a 3, 4 ,5 car shoot out in the end she won't let it all hang out. To worried about "what if I crash and get hurt" in the back of her mind.

Well, Danica got knocked out, Jimmie didn't win, but great race!

Congratulations to Dale Jr, Letarte, and Hendricks. :cooldude:

Pappy!

Danica took one Hell of a wallop into the cement part of the wall. Came out okay and smiling.
Loved the fact that Junior won again though. I will root for Danica any day of the week.

Tx Bohemian

Not a big racecar fan here, and after reading the latest comments here I guess this race is over and Danica didn't win, huh?

Darn!

I was so hoping she would win so I could see her plastered all over the news instead of the antics of the kardshians clan, miley cirus, etc...
Would much rather fantasize, I mean, read about her...

I agree it would be good for the sport if she or any other woman would win.     But her talent has never proven to put her up with the real drivers.   I have nothing against Ms Patrick but, she's never gotten up front and stayed there.    She has led in a few races but, as I remember, it's never been during full out racing.   Always associated with fuel stops, caution flags or something that allowed her to get into the lead.    I could be wrong and if so, feel free to correct me.    She has done well in qualifying but, she's the only one on the track, no one else there.    I am not opposed to Danica or any other woman racing but, I don't believe she is ever gonna be one of the great ones and I do believe it's her looks and what she does for NASCAR that keeps her in the line up.

Re. Danica's racing, I hear she was running in the #3 spot for a while. Don't know what caused her to drop back so far but was told she was around #32 or 33 later in the race. I don't find that type of racing very interesting so don't waste time watching it. I was flipping through the channels and saw where she had moved up to around #7 or 8 so she obviously has some driving skill. Then later saw a replay of the accident that took her out along with a few others.

Pappy!

Danica led the race for a couple of laps during green light pitting and lost the spot when she had to come in.
Think she was running around the 20 spot when she got creamed by another car. That middle of the pack is a dangerous area to run when all Hell breaks loose.

That's my whole point, just about every driver will lead during pitting or caution flags at some point in their career if, they stick around for a while.    She's good for the sport, heck, we're talking about her and NASCAR.    But until she proves she's a driver at that level, she'll never be more than a pretty seat cover.

the only reason she was leading is because the 20 or so guys that were in front of her went in for fuel and tires and $hit

Danica is not afraid to crash, she does it almost every weekend.

So I would be afraid to race anywhere near her.

For that reason.
