New bike. Lotus, sport /race bike? I seen it on the news today, Lotus has a new motorcycle with a 2 cyl. V twin 200 horsepower engine. Only 400 lbs. This should go like lightning. But guess what , It is a Honda engine and Lotus only has its name on it and had nothing to do with building it..Sorry I don't have any pictures.

Lotus has just released pictures of its first-ever motorcycle, the C-01. Producing an estimated 200 horsepower, this machine is built from titanium, carbon fibre, and aerospace-quality steel for a dry weight of just 181 kg.

The street-legal Lotus C-01 will be limited to 100 units. Pricing has yet to be announced.

If the design looks familiar, it's because the C-01 was penned by Daniel Simon, the man who imagined the futuristic motorcycle in Tron: Legacy

If Honda has the know how to build a v-twin making 200 ponies,  why don't they mass produce them and sell them to Harley?  Lord knows they need more power.

Because I doubt it would be built on a common crank pin crank. Thus it would not have the "Harley Sound" so NO ONE would buy them. Harley built a more powerful bike. Remember the V-Rod. Very few bought them because they were not "real" harleys......

This from Motorcycle Daily.... the C-01 features a 200 hp 1195cc v-twin, purportedly derived from KTM's superbike.
