I noticed when posting videos from youtube on this site that sometimes when you copy the video URL the video window shows in the post and sometimes only the Link shows in the post.  How do you get the video window to show up rather than the link?

There are probably a few ways, but the easiest I have found is to start the youtube video and right click with your mouse on the video window and a number of options will pop up.  The top one is "Copy Video URL".  Left click on that choice.  Then right click in your post and "paste" the Video URL.

Voila, you have the video window in your post.  :cooldude:

Also ya' need to pay attention to if the URL is the encrypted version or not. If it's the encrypted version it won't embed but will link, so ya' need to change the URL to the non-encrypted version.

Doing this is a lot easier than it sounds.

If it's encrypted it will start with https:// and if it's non-encrypted it will start with http://

If you get the encrypted version, ya' just need to remove that "s" at the end of https:// to make it the non-encrypted version.

Never ask a geek 'Why?',just nod your head and slowly back away...

Thank you, I knew this and have been doing it this way.  Some times get just the link.

I did not know this, this is what I was looking for.  Thanks Serk!

When the picture shows up, the link is usually there too.

I'd much rather click on the link, it opens in another tab, and I can keep on
reading the board while the video loads...
