What a crock, who gets the money and what are they going to do with it? How are they going to correct a problem that there is really no solution for, which means its basically a fine. So we export natural gas to Russia and what are they going to do to tax or fine that.



Cap-and-trade sets a limit, or cap, on emissions of heat-trapping gases and requires companies to pay for each ton of pollution they emit, the price of which is determined in an allowance auction. Polluters that cut emissions below the cap can sell their leftover pollution permits, called allowances, to companies that need extra.

What you see happening there, will happen in the rest of the US later.  The libs and EPA are trying to get the same "cap and trade" in all the US.

get ready for some massive fuel hikes.  the EPA has required that sulfur be removed from all fuels by 2017.  this means more refining of fuels, more expensive equipment costs that will be passed onto the consumer.

lately here in Wisconsin we've been told that the increase in fuel prices is due to the scheduled "maintenance" on oil refineries.  we've also been told that it's due to the refineries switching to "summer blend".  the latest story that was reported on the news is that the increase in fuel costs is due to the increase cost for Ethanol!!  then they also blame it on the market "speculations" !! 

so, which is it?

Probably a combination of all you listed and maybe more but, the EPA has grown sharper teeth under this administration and can wield it's power in a wide swath.   Refinery "Turn Arounds" or maintenance are the norm, they happen all the time.   Refineries try to schedule those down times when there is a strong supply stored.   Thus limiting their losses while they are down.   Supply and demand is what "Market Speculators" bet on so that's not new.

Most of those other reasons are related to the EPA and Government intervention.   So, I'm going to go along with this:

All the more reason to increase Fracking, isn't it.  Its the cleanest burning fossil fuel we have and we have a lot of it. All engines run well on it, including big diesels.

Some of the early drill companies cut corners and caused some problems, but, they have pretty well corrected any problems and are doing whatever can be done to keep this practice safe.

SOOOOOO...., All this money is going where??  Cap and trade is the biggest piece of bullshit, carbon credits?  How does carbon credits reduce green house gas which is a made up problem to begin with.  Just one wildfire in california will dump more CO2 in the atmosphere than all the cars and trucks combined.  WE need to stop this BS NOW!
