Norbert from South Africa jumps through some hoops re-habing his naked wing, but the best is the picture/poster he made when his engine was apart.  :cooldude: :cooldude: :cooldude:

wow!!

haven't gotten through ALL of the post, but from the few pages I saw it was really neat!

looking at that old Goldwing you can see it looks better as a sport bike.

Wow, that engine was beautiful when he got it back together. Snagged me a pic of the engine laid out on the floor.

Meathead, thanks for the luck, I'll need it.  Hopefully not as much as Norbert did. ;D

I also have been watching Norbert's string, I used his videos to split the case on the GL1200 I'm working on. Mine had a piston with a hole in it...swallowed a valve. So, instead of buying a replacement engine again I decided to pick up a set of used rods/piston off Ebay....sort of a gamble. I'm hoping my gamble pays off, the new/used pistons were in great shape, the rings and bearings were well within spec so I reused them. I doubt I would have tried it until I took a look at his videos, and I still had some major headaches. But, I have it back together and waiting on gaskets to complete the reassembly, then I'll install it in the bike.

yeah no doubt! I know I would have given up with disgust long ago. And from the sounds of it he never worked on engines before this.
