This guy looks like a Bus Driver, but looks are deceiving.

Great American Hero.

You will love it. Veteran or no, you will like this because it is real, not Hype.

MSG Roy Benavidez speech 1991

Some people feel he is the original, bad ass, I won't disagree.
GOD SAVE THE UNITED STATES from the democrats is my prayer.

Al thanks for posting that. He is a true HERO!

This man is the true definition of a Hero...his story differs a little from John Kerry's Purple Heart experience.

Here is a link to Badassoftheweek. Warning, NSFW, but inspirational.

This one is particularly touching as it is about one the first American heros.

I DO NOT have the words to express properly how I feel about this true AMERICAN HERO. Just going by what he related he should have come home in a body bag. GOD had a reason to spare this man. Every Medal of Honor winner that I have seen the video about AND they were able to relate their own story have pretty much said the same thing-I'm NOT the hero-those that died are. Warriors like him are cut from a very different very special cloth. RIDE SAFE.

Great picture BigGuy, he was a hero as well. They all are in my book.

Some of the stories of men and woman performing their duty to the country, well lets just say,

all are unsung heroes.

Viva La Freedom. We all must protect it in our own way.

This guy's speech kept echoing a theme from "Sole Survivor," the story of Marcus Luttrell in Operation Red Wing. They just didn't understand the concept of "quit." No matter how bad the odds, how beat up, shot up, or left for dead, they just kept slogging on.
If you haven't heard Marcus speak, search youtube. I'm amazed at the humor he and MSG Benavidez share.

There is a navy cargo ship named after him.  I think they should have named a seriously bad-assed WARSHIP after him.

If I'm not mistaken I think he is the only Non Officer to have a US ship named after him.

Wow, honoring someone for doing good and a real hero what a concept, Thanks  :cooldude:

In these times, of second guessing our leaders and our patriotism.

This, is the version I like of this man.

Let it speak to your hearts, it is what America promises, a opportunity for all.

Hard Work is what is lacking in todays politics, shorter version but oh my, John Wayne would

have been proud.

Powerful reminder that heroes do exist. And humility is a characteristic of all of them. Thanks so much Al...that was fantastic.

Papa...you should always be proud. There are millions of us out there that honor your, and your brothers', sacrifices. We just didn't get the media attention that the opposing side received.

I have NEVER been ashamed of my service-my Love of GOD or my Love of America-Not Once EVER!! Some smelly folks in O'Hare in 64 tried to make me ashamed-they failed in their mission to make me ashamed. They tried again in 66 and again in 67 and yet again in 68. They did not succeed in trying to make me ashamed of my service. But those smelly folks had rights that I fought for-didn't make me feel any better bout the smelly folks-but I fought for them to. Unpopular war-yeah-but is ANY war popular?? I've heard this before and it still rings true today-Freedom has a taste the protected will never know. May GOD bless our service men and women and veterans ALWAYS. And my oath to protect this Country against all enemies Foreign and DOMESTIC has NOT nor will it EVER be broken. RIDE SAFE.
