Hows my rear-end look ??!!

OK you VRCC Tech gurus....Have the rear wheel off of the Valk to fix the mismatch Rotor / Wheel issue...I serviced the rear about 1 1/2 years ago...didnt take pictures then, but heres how she looks now..30,000 miles roughly currently, Ive put about 10,000 on her since rear end was last off.

So what do ya'll think?

Well, I am no guru but it looks pretty good.  Needs cleaned up and new grease slathered on.  I am right now changing out the rear tire on my I/S.  What works real good to get the old grease off is brake cleaner.  Don't get it in the bearings.
I hit a heaved up spot on a on ramp in Wisconsin on the way back from Copper Harbor,MI.  I am sure that is what caused this.
Oh...there is almost 20,000 miles on that E3.

Looks dry and crusty...but not significantly worn.

Clean and grease. Be sure and pop the star off the rear wheel and add a little grease in there with the thrust washer. Also the face of the bearings. I find sealed bearing last a lot longer if you dab a bit of grease on their sides/faces whenever you're in there. Keeps extra water/dust from attacking their seals.

Check the conditon of the 3 o-rings. Replace as needed.

Be sure and loosen the four bolts on the final drive and tighten them AFTER you torque the axle when re-insatalling the wheel.

Looks OK.  Clean it up and grease it.

I use kerosine to clean off the old grease.

Not sure I will make it to St. Iggy.  I will be at the CBR.  Was nice talking to you at Copper Harbor.  I really enjoyed the cooler weather but don't think I would want to be there in the winter.
