Windows XP

Has anyone been having issues going on line getting, error massages, blank pages, buttons that don't execute. Web sights won't come up, using Windows XP. It seems all my XP machines are having issues. My main machine I scrubbed twice, formated, loaded and install antivirus program but the same results. My Windows7 machines have no issues. I get the feeling that Microsoft may be sabotaging Explorer. Sorry my spell check is not working!!

I know XP support stops next week, but I can't imagine that is your issue.

I think Explorer is up to IE11, but the highest Explorer for XP is IE8, and I assume that is the issue.  I even loaded Chrome, which I hate and browsed, it worked better, but some little anomalies.

I would not put it past Microsoft to 'encourage' XP users to update to a newer operating system. Just in case, I have turned 'Automatic Updates' off.  Actually, I changed it to manual.

I'm having no trouble with windows xp but I'm updating to Windows 7 since no support for XP after April 8th.

I was having the same problems until I deleted the lates Java Flash player update. That took care of the problem on both the IE and Mozilla Firefox browers.

I'm not having and problems with XP Professional.

But, I have a hell of a good Virus chunk of software.

Also have no intention of updating to another operating system.

Support, no problem here, I have never used MicroSoft Support, so I figure I don't need to update as long as I can keep my box free of Trojans and etc.

Maybe that is my problem as well, I have an XP machine in the garage running off an wireless ext to a wireless network. I was blaming the wireless connections. I am running Chrome so I doubt it is explorer it will let me open a few websites then it says no internet connection yet I'm connected to the network. Seems if I disconnect from the wireless and reconnect then I get on.

They say it will run and I don't doubt it, the only problem I see is Windows Explore and if you want to reload XP. You can relaod XP but after 30 day it will lock up if you can't activate it.  They seem to have us by the barries, being that the newer OS systems are more beefy and need new hardware to suppot it. That is why they have that Windows # upgrade advisor.

Local news DC area is saying too many G computers are on XP and they want more time to transition.  They've only spent $10 bazillion on computers and software from the sellers, so the shutoff may get delayed, or not.

good suggestion to go back to previous version of java update.   Our tech guy at work told us ALL most  of us on windows XP to NOT download latest version of JAVA since will cause all kinds of issues running windows XP operating system. 

I wonder what is going to happen at work since most are on windows XP after next week and highly doubt the cheap company is going to give us all new operating systems but they should although I still prefer XP over windows 7, etc. more current.

I have a lap top with XP on it still.  Anymore, it just gets used to transfer music to mp3 players. 

Just ran the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor. 

Upgrade Advisor says I'm SOL and Windows 7 has too many issues with my old XP lap top. 

I have no desire to buy a new lap top with Windows 8 on it.

I have an old XP system in my workroom I only use for internet searches for "how to fix this or that" type info.....not sure how this will play out but may end up biting the bullet and maybe pick up a refurbished Windows 7 or maybe even a super cheap Windows 8.1 tower only.  It sure doesn't have to be fancy or powerful for the limited use or paces I'll be putting it through.....probably don't really need a computer in the workroom in the first place !!  But, I'm lazy and not to bright and can use all the internet help I can get when I try to fix almost anything or tackle any type of work project.

When you say issues and they not compatable with red X's or yellow triangles.  I had the same issues on one computer and the yellow triangles means you just need to update drivers for Win7. If it is red X's that is a hardware issue. I had a red X on my Eathernet chip set, so I installed a seperate ethernet card, problem solved for $10.  Also FYI my XP problem stem from cookies, so I deleted them and hit F5(refresh) and I could go to next page.

I ran the update checker to see if my laptop could be upgraded to Windows 7, and it says no. However, I've upgraded my CPU to a dual core 2.4 GHZ, have 3 Gig memory and a 500 GB Hard drive. Which meets the requirements, but still says I can't do it....I'm beginning to think it's all a scam to get you to buy new stuff.

Upgrade to Linux. Ubuntu or Mint have similar shells as windows and are very user friendly to someone new to Linux. And the best part.... both of those operating systems are FREE.

If you set one up as a dual boot (the Linux program will do the dirty work) and you do not like the Linux operating system, you dump it and then give Microsoft your hard earned money.

There are as few things you can't do in a Linux world and I-tunes is a real pain. 

Windows 7 drivers were a problem for an older tree-a-minute laser printer and I really did not want to spend $700 for a new one so I took an old desktop (p3) and with Linux created a network print server so all windows versions could "talk" to that older printer. That was 5 years ago and that old HP is still giving trees everywhere nightmares.
