Stuck the 1800cc motor on a Valkyrie Rune, ran two years and dumped it.

So they do the same thing again like it is going to work, with no bags and no windshield.

Am I missing something?

1800 Valkyrie why no windshield and no bags. As options.

I'm sorry Al.  that Rune is a piece of art!  if I had the storage, and the desire, I'd get one!  I know they're not everyone's cup of tea but just look at those lines!  that front suspension!  the exhaust!  the shape of the fuel tank, when I see that thing I can't help but think of how much I'd love one!!  Alph

The VRCC Bulletin Board is a forum for everyone that owns or is interested in the "Cruiser of the Decade", the Honda Valkyrie.

Al has demonstrated repeatedly that he doesn't really qualify, hasn't he?   :-\

Al has demonstrated repeatedly that he doesn't really qualify, hasn't he?

There are many on the board that don't qualify (MCRIDER comes to mind), and none of them offer the interesting and unique posts that Al can...

Why, at this time, point Al out?

I agree with Al, first time I saw a Rune in person and not even knowing what I was even looking at my first thought was WOW! This was before I got back into riding after a 40 year break. One of the things that got me to start looking. If I had the money I would own one.

I agree with you entirely regarding MCRIDER and some others.  We do disagree on the interesting and unique quality of Al's posts.

Al left us several times before.  I, for one, went to great lengths to assist Al in more than one return.  The last time Al left he did so with excessive vitriol toward the VRCC and its members.

Then Al returned pretending to be someone else.  When outted, the VRCC allowed him to continue and at that time he once again changed his handle to indicate his identity.  I disagreed at that time with the VRCC allowing Al to return, but was outvoted by some with kinder minds.  You are correct in that I should have noted that Al and several others have demonstrated that they do not qualify.

Al is a smoldering powder keg simply waiting to become a disaster (small or great) to the VRCC community.

What good are rules (guidelines), really, when there is no intention to allow them to guide?

First sentence of VRCC Mission Statement:

Valkyrie Riders Cruiser Club was started because of the need to provide a place where Honda Valkyrie Riders could band together and share the combined wealth of knowledge about this great motorcycle.

I think it has expanded to allow those interested/looking for a Valk to qualify, and those who DID have a Valk, sold it, but are still interested in it and provide their experience and info with others, to be included.

There are some that do not fit ANY of this, MCRIDER comes to mind.  ALL he has ever done is trash the Valk.

Some kind of fit, and move in and out of fitting.  AL is one of those.  Not quite sure where he fits now.  I enjoy reading those posts of his that are about riding, and do not go off the deep end.  Lately seem pretty good, and has expressed interest in another Valk.

You Willow are one of two that are on my ignore list.

Sorry.

The post was about a business attitude that Honda has, that really makes no sense.

Nothing else.

Honda is not the best at Marketing, but they have Rabid fans just like the other make that has more

rabid fans.

Making the same mistakes on the new Valkyrie, that is not popular here on the VRCC, again.

Why, was the post.

You must think I am a very dangerous man. Only reason I came back again, is I have changed

my life style. Wanted to ride with Joe ,Smokin that is, and this was a means to an end.

Mission accomplished, Thanks Smokin Joe.

Your line from above"Al is a smoldering powder keg simply waiting to become a disaster (small or great) to the VRCC community".

You and I have never had a cross word in person, and you say this. Pretty funny as I am laughing now.

Would give the ones that need it the shirt off my back. Confirmed by many here. Even Fox news

makes sure they put a liberal on the program to keep things lively. It actually helps to have a few

non followers in any place or things get stale.

Good upbringing trumps that kind of abuse. Thanks Mom and Dad.

Not taking sides or anything, but Al has some valid points and should be noted and if he wants to express his opinion, fine with me, not that my opinion has any bearing either.

I think aftermarket accessories whether by Honda or aftermarket places will be coming out for the new 1800 creation.  Sure hope so, they are desperately needed.

I once jokingly went onto a HD website forum and created an account to rile up the local HD riders.  I got banned and locked out from their website for voicing my opinions.  Big Al doesn't fall into this category in my opinion.

Sounds good, do not let Gordon, Lucky 13 on it. He will try to wheelie it for sure.

He will ask first. He won't do it without asking. Good on Yah Reb. You may be the 1st here

on this board to buy one. I think. Correct me if I am wrong.

I believe that the Rune was a concept bike that Honda made into a production bike with almost no changes.

I thought it was a really cool even outrageous ride and would have loved to have one, if I had bottomless pockets.  However it's a specialty bike, like a Boss Hoss, which I also wanted.  It's use is too limited, w/o bags & shield to me it's a boulevard bike and even being cool, I already have a cruiser.  So I bought a Gold Wing and found it excellent for trips.  Or getting groceries.  There are other things we don't have yet the wifey is pushing for - like a vacation to Europe, or a well funded retirement.  So big ticket bikes aren't on the menu.  Now if I was to stumble onto an outstanding deal, like a divorce with the wife selling hubby's bike for pennies on the dollar to screw him over - well I'd feel bad for him then RUN not walk to the bank to get a cashier's check.

Do you really have so much time on your hands to go on to HD sites just to "rile them up" ? You gotta get out and ride more :uglystupid2:

Except for the front suspension I never cared much for the looks of the Rune.
Don't like the 'new' Valkyrie either....but I haven't yet seen one in person.
Doesn't really matter, I'm not in the market for a new ride. IF I were, I'd head
for the Triumph dealer and look at a Thunderbird first.
