well, we're under a winter storm warning/watch again.......  expecting several inches of snow from this one.  I was worried that winter was over, but thankfully it's not!

cycles still on blocks, fuel tank is still empty, haven't tried to start the fat girl in 8 months, and I guess i'll just leave her alone for one more month......

doesn't make any sence to get her all ready to ride, just so I can stear at it in the shed, while the snow flies outside. 

oh the joy of living in wisconsn.......  (you know, this IS god's country.....)

I know, I know.  I did say at the beginning of march that we usually get "one more" snow storm, but usually it's during the high school playoff basketball games two weeks ago......  it's just a little late.  we did get 5" of wet heavy snow last year in May!!

Sorry its so bad up there.  I live in SC and I am writing this at 7:27 pm Wednesday.  Its currently 81 degrees outside and very sunny.  Sorry to rub it in, I really feel for you guys.  Man, I love living here...........

Cold front hit AZ today. Only got up to 60 and it was cold coming home from work. Didn't miss a day on the bike this winter. Had a couple of mornings in the low 40's: BRRRRRR!!!!

It's in the mid-70s here in Arkansas and we're waiting on a pounding from severe thunderstorms with hail and tornadoes to come marching through over the next 16 - 20 hours. I'm looking forward to that being over.

Sorry, I can't relate to the problem.   I do realize you folks up north get a lot of that slick stuff and I don't blame you for not riding in or on it but, I never have winterized my motorcycles.   There's always some time in the winter one can ride.    No, I haven't wintered in Wisconsin and, I don't plan to.

The coldest I've ridden in this last winter was -1 F.    A bunch of below freezing days.   One thing I've learned, when I ride in the summer, I have to worry about not being seen.   When I ride in the winter, I know everyone is seeing me.   Lots of "What the Hell" looks followed by finger pointing and jaw dropping looks.   Makes it all worth while.

Man, that is crazy driving cycle in -1 Fahrenheit temps or even below freezing.  Ever hear of ice and slippery roads?

Alph,  I heard 6-10" but hopefully it tracks more north of Eau Claire than expected and you get a dusting.  Wishful thinking?

Only rain for us further south and up to 2" in next day or so.  Good news is the ice is off some of the lakes or darn near finally.

Alpha,  I feel for you.   We have had 60 degree weather several weeks ago.   Snow On Monday and Tuesday.  You should be enjoying it now.  Thankfully non of it stuck to the roads.  I did mow the lawn yesterday in 50 degree temps - first time this year.   Now they are telling us that we'll have near 70 degrees by middle of next week.   It was warmer the last two weeks of January than Feb and March.  (I did get over 800 miles during that time    )

If I read her map right, hard to look at a firkin map with this broad on the tube.

Still cold here and raining. Snow is going slowly but at least the crap is going away. Got to ask. You really leave  your tank empty?? Hm, not worried bout rust? Anyway, we are supposed to be snow free from here on out, but who knows? I've ridden roughly 70 miles in the past week or so. Best way to tell the weather is to stick your beak outside in the morning. Better than the weather guessers.

Everybody referring to snow as crap.  I'd rather have it (snow that is) white than brown and smelly? 

Man, those winds could chill out as well sustained 30 mph winds lately. 

As far as emptying the gas tank, I guess if it works for Alph with no issues,  must be o.k.???  although most here in the northern climate I imagine fill up the tank full in mid to late November,  run seafoam or stabil a few miles, shut off fuel valve, and then fires right up come spring with very little issues.   I would think rust would be more apt to form as well inside the tank if empty but then again I run the snowblower dry of gas every winter about now with no issues?

I use a syringe with a flexible hose (same hose use on an RC airplane fuel line) to reach down deep and suck out all the fuel.  means having to take the tank off, rotate it so all the fuel is in one spot.  then I'll leave the cap open to let 'er dry.  I guess i'll have to make a video one of these years......

on another story; thankfully, NO SNOW YET!!  suppose to be coming in anytime now....

Question alph, wouldn't it be easier to just fill the tank with some kind of gas assistance liquid, like Stabil, SeaFoam, and etc.

By sucking it dry, you also need to spray it with a light coat of oil so it will not rust.     Rusty gas tanks are a bitch to get clean afterwards.

Just trust me on the rust part.    Let one of our race bikes set empty one year, and of course it was the one with a metal tank.    Plastic tanks didn't worry about them being full or empty, no problem.

In southern ON Canada, we've been at least getting the 40's and no snow left on the ground. Been able to ride a few times, was off two wheels for three months and that was enough.

Some of you guys need to move north for better weather.
