Fork Spring Easy Way question

My 1998 Valk has 23,000 miles.  I have the Progressive #11-1513 to install.  I have no leaks (from seals) and don't think I really need to do a complete rebuild (Bushing, Seals...) at this time, as covered in Norway directions.???
Simply would like to install the new Progressive springs and replace the Fork Oil.
Quote.."Replace any oil dragged out with the spring..."   I don't think very much oil(less than an oz.) will come out while removing the springs.  How to remove the oil??  Is a pump the only way?

PS.  My Clymer /Valkyrie Service Manual states: Fork Oil Honda SS-7 which is a 5wt
      Most/All threads are saying "10wt"??

If you remove the forks from the trees, just dump the oil out and remove the spring. Refill with all new oil to the correct level and reassemble. No need to replace seals or bushings.

Yes, most folks use 10 weight oil. I use 15 wt with Progressive springs. I weigh 220.

Sunday morning... working on right fork now,  got the old Spring out.
(sucking the old oil out best I can with a syringe and hose... working pretty well.)
