NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The state Senate has passed a bill to allow Tennesseans to openly carry guns without a state-issued permit.

The chamber voted 25-2 in favor of the bill sponsored by Republican Sen. Mae Beavers of Mt. Juliet.

Beavers said the measure would keep the background checks and training requirements in order to carry concealed firearms, but would allow anyone legally allowed to own a gun to carry it openly.

The bill would also remove state restrictions on the location of ammunition when firearms are being transported in vehicles, and would allow guns to be removed from cars on school property for the purposes of storing them in another part of the vehicle.

The companion bill is awaiting a vote in the budget subcommittee of the House Finance Committee.

And the Colorado libs keep trying to infringe on our gun rights, even after some were voted out.  I guess we'll have to vote more out until they get it.

Crime is down in Chicago Illinois since Illinois legalized conceal carry.

Huh imagine that, let the law abiding citizens protect themselves and crime goes down. It is rocket science I tell you.

Arizona is open carry no permit, no training, 2nd amendment declares no infringement on your

right to bare arms. That is to say, you can bare them, own them, sell them, buy them, or just

put one over your fireplace.

Like it should be.

Don't take this wrong...I'm all for concealed carry...and have no problem with open carry. Illinois was WAY past due to turn CC into law.

With that said, crime would have been down in Chicago anyway.  Illinois just had the worst winter in terms of cold temps and snow in memory. THAT was the contributing factor in lower crime. Nobody wants to freeze their ass off. Just saying.

I now hope crime is reduced during the good weather because of CC.

I'm all for that!!

Arkansas passed an open-carry bill last year.  The libs never knew what hit them and insisted it didn't legalize open carry until the prosecuting attorneys said it did.  Now, it is legal to open carry UNLESS you intend to commit a violent act.  Arkansas, of course, still has a concealed permit.

PA has a LTCF (License to Carry a Firearm).. it offers more than the ability to just carry concealed (like during a state of emergency... and we always have a state of emergency with weather... etc).

HOWEVER, Open carry is legal in PA woithout a license (with the exception of Philly, where OC is permitted.. if you have a LTCF...) while on foot. It does not cover you in a vehicle... the LTCF does... and a few other nuances.

I have had a few run ins with the local police (some were NY, NJ MD transplants) that tried to arrest me, confiscate my firearm...etc.

While I have my LTCF, I prefer to OC (and no requirement to conceal with the LTCF) for my own comfort and convenience. You should see the distance people give my valk when I am going to an IDPA match, or to the club to practice, etc... the pics from the camera phones have to be priceless, especially in traffic... the looks soccer moms give are the best.
I would rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6

Open carry is actually quite common.  According to Wikipedia, 18 states allow it without a permit, and another 14 do with a permit.  Here in Colorado some localities preempt it, but it is not unusual to see someone carrying openly in rural areas.

West Virginia has had open carry for several years. You don't really see many people doing it. I have opened carried a few times and have never been questioned about it and do not think anyone even noticed.
The legislature recently passed a law (SB 317), that made open carry and a few other regulations, state wide. Charleston and New Martinsville had city laws that did not allow open carry. The mayor of Charleston threw a fit on local TV. Saying they are not going to do this in MY TOWN. I guess he found out that Charleston belongs to the citizens, not the Mayor.

And I'm stuck in New York, land of the libs. :'(

New York will compensate this surge of Freedom by taking all citizens in New York's guns completely

away and giving them a Big Gulp Soda Permit.

You can pour it on a mugger and run, the mugger will grow large from the carbs and not

be able to keep up. LOL
