I have been wanting another set of Cobra's for about the last year. Watched classifieds and Craig's list. Didn't find anything. Over that period of time I noticed a couple others in the group had an add in the VRCC classifieds looking for a set also.  Been looking at all the normal on line dealers finally found some new ones for $688.00 compared to many other sites that's a pretty good price.
So I go on line place my order a couple minutes later I get my email confirmation of the order. (Cool) A couple days later I get an email saying my card was declined. The same day I get a call from my bank and asking if this is an authorized charge. I told them yes, so I'm thinking great I'll get my pipes. Nope the next day I go back to the website to find the order, it says no order exists.
So place another order thinking that since I ok'd the charge it would go through. The next day I get an email from them asking me if I could just use PayPal. So I'm thinking my card was declined again. So I said sure so when I got home that evening I placed an new order through PayPal. About a week later I get my pipes. (Really cool) Two days later I get another set of pipes.  So I sent them an email asking what order was shipped. They said PayPal order 41546****, PayPal shipped cost $688.00 Order 2556***** card declined, no charge.  So I sent them another email saying " I have received 2 sets of pipes please make arrangements to have one set picked up and make sure I'm not charged for the second set. I also called and left a message stating the same thing I put in the email.  A couple days later I got an email that stating " Well if we shipped you 2 sets could arrange pick up"  DAH.  I have not heard back from them yet and that was last week. I hate to be one of those people that feel I cheated someone but I'm not going to keep hounding them to do their job. A well spelled out email and a phone message with my cell number should be enough.

Honest thoughts ???

Do what you can and then wait.........when they don't get them sell them to me for a big discount  :2funny:

I'm not sure I understand if you paid once or twice.  If twice, I would contest/cancel the credit card charge immediately.  Unless the paypal is easier to cancel.  Stop payment on one in any event.  That should get their attention.

If you only paid once, keep the extra set ready for shipment.  Send them forwards of past emails.... Still Waiting.

I think you did more than would be acceptable. I would keep an eye on your card statements though, they may end up charging you in the end.

sounds like you made online order and they responded that your card was declined.

you checked online and no order existed (could assume it was cancelled) and you ordered again using PayPal.  they erroneously shipped you two sets and you only paid for one.

you responded by asking them to pick up 2nd set and not charge you twice and no response yet.

so . . . if nothing else happens, you have a 2nd set that you did not pay for because they made an error.  to me, I think  you should make another effort to right the wrong and let them get their product back, because . . . it is the right thing to do.  :cooldude:

and it will make you feel good about yourself instead of feeling a little guilty thinking you maybe should have done a little more to make it right.  If the shoe was on the other foot you would be very appreciative of the other party doing the "right thing".

Honesty is honesty.  It has no qualification in responsible enough.

How you proceed will depend upon how important honesty is to you.

I think a detailed email with your contact information, order details and circumstances would be more than sufficient.... Especially after a phone call.  However, I would also keep an eye on your charge statement as well.  It might be easier and less expensive for them to charge you twice than arrange a return pickup.  Or it could even be less embarrassing for the individual responsible to drop it to save his face/job.

How you proceed would be dependent  on how important honesty is to you.  Honesty is important to me.... But I wouldn't  spend hours preparing multiple emails, or hours on the phone in an effort to fix their error or spend my money to return ship it  either.....  Some might, I wouldn't. But that's me.  My time is as valuable as anyone else's, and sometimes more. Maybe if they fail to follow up you can just contact the shipper and reject the shipment and return to sender to clear your conscience.

I have sent them another email, adding a row of question marks. We'll see. I would think they would really be wanting them back. As far as charging me again, not possible. Once a card transaction is complete and closed they have no legal way to run it through again.

I finally got a response from them. Guess they done some checking and decided I was right. They went back on their dime. All is well.

By the way the new pipes sound really goooood...
