Just bought a 98Valk standard with a Memphis shades batwing and Tsukayu strong bags which were promptly traded out for a Harley trunk and saddlebags. I am lovin the power it has and the wife loves the back seat. Will put pics up soon.

OK,....it's yours, but why in the world would you put HD bags on it?

You answered your own question before you asked it.    Some like those HD bags, and better than the ones he had obviously.  Consider that parts and replacement is quit easy considering  HD bag availability..... I'm sure it's more cost effective.

Because you can buy used Harley bags and trunks without having to take out a second mortgage on the house? And they look and work better than the cheap crap that is available? :cooldude:

AND, welcome to the insanity!

Welcome bybs.  We love to see other peoples Valks.  Can't wait to see the pics.   :cooldude:

Actually, the Tsukayu strong bags he took off are a very nice bag.  Not cheap crap at all.....although cheap crap options are indeed plentiful.

However, it's his bike and perhaps he simply likes the style of the Harley bags better.  Some folks do.  There have been plenty of Valks posted here on this forum that have Harley bags on them...and most that I've seen look pretty good with them mounted.

My bike sports a Harley trunk on it......

Bybs, WELCOME to the Valk world, lots of great people here and do post some pics when you get a chance, I really want to see how your ride turned out  :cooldude:

Those are Tsukayu Patrol bags that look like Harley bags.
I am about to put install some of the same bags on a standard.
They are a very good product and would recommend to anyone looking for aftermarket bags  :cooldude:

Welcome Bybs.
I have what many would consider "cheap" bags. Can't remember the name right now.  Last year when I dropped it the bag bracket bent and  the hinge bent but there was enough flex in the bags that they suffered no damage at all.
Yeah, I'm a tight wad but sometimes it pays to go cheap.

Can't remember the name right now.

Those are National bags. Mustang sells them too, and covers them with
(probably Corinthian) leather. My buddy Dennis' Confederate bike has them...

As I stated, it's your bike.
But the Tsukayu are a high quality set of saddlebags and depending on the year and model of HD they came from, they may have odd shaped interiors.

If you still have the Tsukayu bags, I could use a pair of really good hard bags, I'd be interested.

No, they don't.  The bags that Mustang sells with their covering on them are Tsukayu Quick Release Strong bags.  They're a very nice bag....fiberglass bags, lined, very nice lock sets, etc.
