Said screw it to work and 13 hour days and headed for home. At five p.m. I backed the truck out of the barn, threw caution to the wind and pulled my vtx1800 out into the sun light for the 1st time in six months. While letting it run for a couple minute I put my jacket and helmet on. I then climbed on board and started down the pot holed driveway. As I pulled out on the road I immediately felt the weeks stresses melt away. A quick 5 miles on the bike was incredible for the soul. Couldn't take either valk due to work needed to be finished on them. Needed to get home in order to do laundry, gotta have clothes after all. If weather holds out tomorrow will take my brothers valk I/s out for a shake down ride since changing out the exhaust. Now it's valk related..

I suppose any "two" wheels beat any four 99% of the time.  Glad you are able to get into the wind finally up there in the frozen tundra.

We are into no jacket weather now but pretty soon everyone will be complaining its too hot

Glad you have thawed out and can get some air in your hair. :cooldude:

Hey Big D. Looks like the stress of seeing us all riding in to GOTF got to you, and you just couldn't contain yourself anymore. It was great seeing you and Little D there.

While I agree with you about how great it is to ride on two wheels, there was a time or two on the GOTF trip when rain by the buckets, wind, truckers that were in a huge rush, and texting idiots in cages during rush hour would have made 4 wheels the wiser choice. :-[

However, it seems that even the worst trip on two wheels provides always provides better long term memories than any trip on four.   :)

Glad you got a chance to catch some wind! :cooldude:

FB and zI took a nice 300 plus mile ride to take in the Texas wildflowers  on Friday... Nice ride!!!!!  I was on the Harley.... had the Valk on the rack for some maintenance ....It was a nice way to clear the cobwebs!!!!

blue=3 times
green=at least 4 times
When they are all 'green'.. I'll stop counting.

glad you got out and enjoyed the wind and took some stress off your face into a smile, feels good.

doesn't matter if you are on a 50cc scooter or a powerful Valk/Wing,  2 wheels brings more joy to the soul than what most on 4 wheels can do.

I get almost (well almost) as much fun (minus the bugs) on my 250cc scooter as my Valk if I am not after pure acceleration that is.  Makes me feel good though at the pump at 63 mpg putting in 8 bucks per week in gas vs. 70 per week in my pickup.

boy, i feel your pain!!  it was last wednesday that i rode my cycle for the first time since last october 15th.  went to a dentist appointment, then about 20 miles to get some raw honey.  it's just so nice to ride again!  as soon as i got home, i put her right back in the shed, they're talking snow this weekend, monday & tuesday.......  (will this crap EVER end!!)

Saturday was sunny, so after a few morning errands, we pulled out the bikes. Checked tire pressure and basic safety check.  Ok all good. We were off. Not a long day of riding, but, good to get some fresh air and wind. Eat lunch at a restaurant outside.

We saw another valk.....which big d followed and we chatted a bit. Slowly made our way home for dinner as the temperature dropped. Maybe spring has come to ny after all......

lol

It must have been torture watching everyone riding last weekend Big and Lil D

If you dont like the weather in upstate NY just wait 20 minutes

Can remember it being warm and sunny in Buffalo and snowing  minutes later with wind coming off
the lakes

Was great to see both of you again  and it is terrific that you could feed your souls with time in
the wind !!
