better yet!  Police arrest a drivers education teacher for DUI while she was going to pick up kids for a lesson!!

There's no teeth in the drunk driving laws in Wisconsin, so nobody cares to prevent the behaviors.  No ones held accountable.  My god, kill a guy, get 5 years!!  You get more jail time for mail fraud, or drug position, or having sex with an animal!!

I don't know the WI statutes (sentencing) in question, but this sounds like a judge problem, not a law problem.

as for that Holler girl, she was plastered drunk at 5:24 in the morning.  the judge says; "It's not an accident; it's a homicide,"  THEN TREAT IT AS SUCH!!  five years, what the hell is she going to learn from 5 years in prison?  put her away for at least ten!

there was a case of a guy in Duluth MN that was convicted of such a thing.

5 years is standard for the liberal state with the comedian senator (MN in case you did not know) next to you too. Most cases get a short jail term then probation though. Here in our county we did have a good prosecutor that got a murder conviction on a guy that ran down a group of college kids crossing main street killing one. Judge sent him away for about 15, guy appealed and lost the appeal.

it's true you kill someone in Wis with a car you get very little time in jail. We always say if want to kill someone in Wis use a car.

there's a guy at work, he got caught with a horse, TWICE!!  his last name is "Edwards", for the longest time (I didn't know about the horse thing) I use to call him Mr. Ed!!  he'd always give me a dirty look, like I was a smart ass, but honestly I didn't know!!  thankfully he's on a different shift.

You guys crack me up - Mr. Ed - that was a good one.

It's true in WI you see all the time on the news with 5-6th drunk driving conviction and yet he/she walks or gets minimal jail time, slap on the wrist.  There is a LONG time judge here where I live in Green County, named Mr. Beer no less, that has been caught drinking and driving and HE is the judge. 

I say even no deaths involved, after 3rd drunk driving conviction, pull the drivers license FOR LIFE and give them 10 years jail time!  Problem is those people will still drink and drive even without a license.  They just don't care and won't learn ever until it is too late.

Until WI and am sure other states put a much tougher sentence,  people won't care.

Just don't start preaching to me about wearing a seat belt here in WI, only a 10 dollar fine.
