( 4 ) of us took off this morning for Murphy, North Carolina. We hooked up with Mike ( hubcap ) at Rib Country so he could sell Gordon ( Lucky 13 ) some saddlebags . They was the same color as his Interstate so he took his off and mounted the new ones for the ride home.

I like this picture ( not bad for a cheap iphone ) .

The Hiwassee River has its headwaters on the north slope of Rocky Mountain in Towns County in northern Georgia (as the Hiawassee River) and flows northward into North Carolina (there assuming its more common moniker Hiwassee) before turning westward into Tennessee, flowing into the Tennessee River a few miles west of State Route 58 in Meigs County, Tennessee. The river is 147 miles long.

After lunch in Murphy we took off for Deal's Gap and a run at The Dragon. The Tree Of Shame is alive and well and full of motorcycle parts that didn't make it across The Dragon.

I want to give a shout out to my ridin' buds Gordon , Greg and Larry. Apparently after leaving Deal's Gap we all was moving along at a pretty good clip and passed two motorcycle cops on the other side of the road. Everyone seen them but me , everyone backed out of it but me. They hit the sirens and got behind my friends giving me time to escape a ticket . Larry said we was running  interference for you Joe. He said some sport bikes came screamin' by and they flipped to chase them ... Thank Homies  :cooldude:

" The Money Shot " taken this beautiful afternoon on Foothills Parkway . We could not buy a more perfect day for a ride. It was cool this morning but warmed up nicely with nothing but blue skies and sunshine.

I've seen alot of people that thought they were cool , but then again Lord I've seen alot of fools.

Look like so much fun we don't have hills or twisties close by.

I wish I could get a transfer your pictures make me homesick.
What we do all have is a limited number of days to devote to whatever we love in this life.  Not all the same number of days but all have limited days....Willow

Had a similar incident here a couple summers back.  Was leading a ride of 5-6 on 211 up and over the Skyline Drive.  It's probably the most technical ride in NoVA and riders come from all over to do it (extreme twisties and elevation).  And the cops stake it out regularly.  On the preride, we discussed it and said the faster would go up hard, and others should ride their own ride (and we'd meet up at the bottom on the other side).

So just heading up the mountain, a rider group coming down were all tapping their helmets..... uh oh.  So I am tapping to my guys, but the guy on the Rocket III behind me took it as a launch signal, and passed me and took off.  I chased after him tapping away and flashing my lights, but he thought the race was on, and just kept on stomping on it.  So rather than pushing him, I fell back, hoping he would also, nope.  Up near the top he was getting his 20 over ticket as we motored by.

After this, the preride reviewed the hand signals which I thought everyone knew already.  :crazy2:

Performance awards are just the occasional tax on having fun.

Course most of us do not have CDLs to worry about.
