Crime in the sunshine state

Just heard from a very dear friend and family member who is many states away, she is a widow somewhere in her 70's. She was married to my oldest brother until he was killed in an accident in the early 80's. Her 2'nd husband who was a great friend who recently passed away after a very long illness during which she always stayed by his side.

Some piece of crap let themselves into her house, stole her keys and one of her cars today. She can't get her locks changed until tomorrow so she's staying alone tonight with the doors blocked knowing there are criminals out there with keys to her house. Wish to heck she was close enough I could make a fast ride and at least stay there tonight until the locks are changed and make sure she is safe.


I don't care if you run 10 or 20 or more over the speed limit, everybody does. I don't care if you don't wear a seatbelt, I don't either most of the time. None of that or another 1000 victimless crimes makes you a criminal in my world. But if you're too lazy or addicted or stupid to provide for yourself so you steal from other people I've got no sympathy for you when Karma taps on your shoulder, rips off your head and craps down your neck.

As a matter of fact, I'd sell tickets and make popcorn for the event.

While I agree with you, if you had the location of this woman and posted it a little earlier we may have been able to help her. There is always a chance, I dont like to see the older people taken advantage of.

I just got off the phone with my sister-in-law. Someone had entered her house around 10am yesterday while she was home, stole her key chain which was hanging by the door and stole her car. When she got up today her golf-cart had been stolen sometime during the night.

The good news is they caught the guys/kids who did it and she got her car and golf-cart back. The bad news is they side-swiped something with her car and it will need to be repaired. She'd had a busy day and was just sitting down to dinner so I didn't ask for more details but it sounds like things are as good as they can be.
