1999 Interstate rear speaker replacements

Due to the unfortunate down pour of rain when i was trailering my new valk home from Michigan i believe my rear speakers took on to much water, the left one seems to be much quieter then the other one and if i tap on the arm rest it gets better. OR its just time to replace them? what fits and whats the best replacement?

Do you have marine speakers?  If not, get speakers made for marine use and put them in.  Even water resistant speakers will fail if properly soaked, as it sounds like yours are.  My last set of wr speakers had the cone come unglued after being immersed during a heavy downpour.  That made for a bad buzz.

IM not sure whats in it for speakers, i will most definatly get marine speakers. what size are they?

Many have used Polk DB-501. They do require minor modifications to the speaker housing. I used Polk DXi-500 in the front and DXi-400 for the rear. The DXi-400 will fit the rear without any modifications.  You will need to change the terminal ends because Polk speakers use small connectors.  Both of these are for marine application. Note that these speakers are 4 ohms and Honda speakers are either 2 or 3 ohms. This means they require more power. Several people who have made the switch to Polk also install a amp to get more power to the speakers. I am currently using mine without an Amp but I have one to install when I get the time. Forgot to mention, I put the Polk speakers in my IS trunk, which I mounted on the back of my Shadow ACE Tourer. At hiway speed and full volume, I couldn't hear it. I followed the  above installing rear speaker link.

I used polk db501 all the way around and a 2 channel rockford fosgate 300watt amp mounted in the fairing. Plenty loud for anyone.

A good thing to do is applying a good upholstory water repellent to your speakers. I work for a professionnal sound company and we use this trick for all our speakers that goes outside
