Been thinkin of insuring my Valkyrie  comprehensive/collision  policy?  so if I damage my bike  I can have it fixed at no cost /less deductible.

If its under 200$ a year added to just the liablility I have now ( $110 per year premium) , maybe I might do it .

anyone have it  or ideas about this subject.  THANKS

Mike in Wyoming and Im out......

A don't forget -- riding thru hwy 90 here  drop me a line , park  in the back yard , Ill BBQ lunch and we can TALK VALK.... :cooldude:

I load up on insurance, comp, liability, Medical and un insured/under insured,  Saved our butts when we wrecked!
Woops, I'm sorry.

I'm fully insured with quite a few thousand extra due to the stuff added on. Less than $200/yr. but I've been with them quite a few years and my deductible is now zero.

Up to you.  They will only pay up to the book value of your bike. If you can afford to take that loss then............   I have two bikes and only have collision/comprehensive on the Valk.    Just posted a question about uninsured/under insured coverage about 2 minutes ago.

one bitch is they only insure to book!  , that's a problem,  hell it would take 10K to get my Valk back to as is.

Can you tell them  insure to this $ amount?   say 10K$?,

There are agreed value policies out there.  Usually need an appraisal.

Also, you can get higher limits for add on accessories.  That is what I did on my new sidecar.  Just became an accessory, and I added that value to the accessory policy.

That is the easiest for things you have added to the bike.  If you have somehow changed the basic bike, so it is worth a lot more, than would need to go the agreed value route.

I'd get un and underinsured since far too many people don't have any insurance when in fact it is now a state law you must have insurance but no one seems to care or do it especially when you get in an accident always seems like someone uninsured hits you.

Medical payments are only needed in my opinion if have someone else than immediate family riding with you or you don't have family health insurance to cover your medical bills.

No.  Not with my insurer.  They will pay up to everything I have into the bike, not depreciated, as long as I can prove it.  And I can.  It's covered now for $28,000.  And I don't pay anything extra on the premiums.  How do I know it's not just BS?  I wrecked Black Beauty, renamed Deerslayer by killing two mule bucks with it on 6/15/01.  They wrote me a check for $13,500. And would have gone up to about $22k at the time if it had to be totalled. I had paid $12,400 for the bike new, four years before (almost to the day).  And had almost as much on it in bling and mods.  Who is this wonderful company?  You won't believe it.  State Farm.

Still riding Deerslayer.

How would I communicate to State Farm for this kind of coverage Deerslayer?
