Reinstalling front tire and rim on axle after replacing front fork seals. Manual does not call for any grease on the axle....is this right?

As always, any help is greatly appreciated.

I always wipe the axle and apply a thin coat of the molly-lube I use on the rear-end. It just makes it easier on the next service. A very light film , it is not lubricating , only making the next job easier.

I always wipe it with some grease.

Also dab a little grease on the bearing seals each time...after wiping last time's off...it's the secret to making lifetime bearings last a lifetime.

+1 on the light wipe of grease.  Its a great way to prevent an annoying squeaking from the bearing seals. (or so I've been told)
