I finally got to test ride the new Valk today and this bad girl is flat out fast. At 3/4 throttle it's as fast as the old Valk and at full throttle it's no contest and I mean no contest in any way shape or form. When asked about the comfort all i could say is i wasn't thinking about comfort because I was to busy hanging on. Throttle response is INSTANT. If there is a word that is faster than INSTANT then thats the word I'm searching for ! lol ! Salesman want me to sign on the bottom line, but I told him I needed to see what bags and wind screen looked like first. Pictures are not posted yet but part numbers and prices are.

I rode them last week.  While I agree with EEEZZ about the power and throttle response, I found the black to be slowest (as expected).  Red was the quickest, then blue, then black (weird, 'cause blue is usually the fastest).  The bags are leather, not hard bags.  But, I'm sure Champion and others will have them available.  There are two windshield options, Boulevard or Tall; weird that the tall one is less expensive ($230).

I am waiting to decide between the new Valk & the F6B for my eventual upgrade. The looks of the w/s & hard bag availability for the Valkyrie are important to me.
One thing I would like to know is the difference if any between the engines of the new Valk & the F6B. Are they tuned, cammed, & mapped the same? Make the same torque & HP?
If they are then the only choice to be made is aesthetic & ergonomic related.

Cruise control is a non issue.
Do NOT want radio, cruise control, ABS, or reverse. if I did I would just buy or would have already bought a 'Wing. 
What I DO want is a centerstand, backrest for rider & passenger, a good w/s, and most of all the smooth power of the incredible Honda flat six.
I think the F6B has a radio standard but I don't have to turn it on.

They have an optional passenger backrest listed, but the seat sucks... as is usual for Honda.

92 pounds lighter for the Valk vs the F6B, but that's without bags on the Valk
doubt there are any engine differences but the mufflers are different

Thanks, the bags are leather, but look like they are covered in leather or pleather and have a plasticshell or liner. Want to see the windshields offered. Liking the chrome add ons.

Perhaps it's just us, but all would tie together and look better if the "frosted" looking finish on the passenger rails and fork lowers had been carried out on all the other "shiny" parts, including the pipes.  Alternately, change the "frosted" finish on those two parts to straight chrome to match everything else.

Still, good looking stuff for the most part.  And we expect an owner can forgive a multitude of other shortcomings once the throttle is properly twisted...

ignition timing comes on faster not as much weight to worry about. according to some web sites that is all the engine tweaks that were done.
I've seen the bike in person, it still looks like a goldwing or F6B that has had its front fairing stolen/damaged and the owner is too cheap to fix it.

can't find anything to support his statement, rather doubt it
the new Valk has differences in the suspension from the F6B though
and different mufflers
the leather bags in the pics in another reply do not look like what I would expect from Honda.
If they are Honda, that dealer is the first and only one I can find that has them on the new Valk and the grips shown look aftermarket- maybe not Honda?, def. not stock. The chrome sidecovers look good.
in fact, the Honda website doesn't show accessories for the Valk, only the F6B

Well this is not quite as disappointing as I had imagined, but until locking painted glass or abs hardbags are available, it remains a no go for me.  And still nothing on the shields, but a promise.







I don't want much, but would like this bike with the Honda flat 6 1800 fuelie in it with a quick detach trunk, and single sided swingarm.    (I guess that's an F6b with the clunky rear end)

After the storm cells went through today, I rode out to Trimble's Cycle Center in Austin to have my first peek at the 2014 Valkyrie and talk to the sales staff about accessories.  Went a couple of days early to get a test ride so I might have to make the journey again.  The Honda bags pictured above appear to be the same as the salesman described.  They are not what would suit me.  

Other impressions are as follows:

• Not the first to say too much plastic, way too much plastic.  
• The finish of the lower front forks really sux.
• I'm not a fan of the blacked out handlebar and controls.  
• I don't like the huge chrome tank fill cover.
• Handlebar height and pullback is not right for me.  Riser needed.
• Never did care for those radiator pods, but the finish at the front inside is bad and there is a rear vent slot that could dump hot air on your lower leg.
• Style wise, it does not float my boat.

The F6B is more to my liking.  But I had a chance to by a very nice 2003 Goldwing last Friday that I should have popped on.  I guess I'm getting old.

I honestly can't believe they made it uglier and sincerely hope that aftermarket bag manufacturers are able to come up with something decent. How do they ever decide that pleather hard bags should go on a futuristic bike??? THey don't suit and are not particularly attractive in their own rite

Seeing the pleather bags makes it easier for me to imagine Champion Patriots on there. Still... how
would you mount them? Maybe the pleather bag mounts would work... I hope Champion will
produce a mount kit... I really like the new valkyrie, but someone's going to have to make some
decent bags for it before I'll be riding one... come on windshield pictures, put us out of our misery
already...

First time i've seen the bags,I don't think they look to terrible. Hard bags look better, but at least them soft bags can swell up lol

The bags just make the bike look more odd than it already appears.  

There's something wrong in a bike's design when a huge chunk of plastic srounding the radiators are as big as the bike's saddlebags.

Just saw the new Goldwing Valkyrie 10 minutes ago at the dealer.  The whole are around the fork uppers and between the radiator pods is not very attractive.

Of course, the reason we like it is because it is darn close to what we already have... black solo valks with fairings and tunes.  Only a little more updated, yet still classic. (unlike the Dung Beetle  )

I don't know why I even think about it, both my ISs with maintenance should outlast my future dirt nap.

If I ever move to the country, what I'd really like would be another light dirt dual-sport so I could run the trails and destroy what's left of my musculoskeltal system.

That's pretty cool... I asked the Champion people if they were working on a bracket to mount
some Patriots on a new Valkyrie... they said no, not at this time, they need access to a Valkyrie
to develop one...

The bracket PDF makes it seem likely (possible?) that we could use that bracket to
mount any number of different saddlebags...

Thanks for the link to the accessories page  The problem now though I saw the bags and the mount that Honda supplies and technically it can be used for any bag because of it being a flat surface but the load rating is to low 10lbs. I also looked at the way they are anchored and its pretty flimsy on the top.
