I've been looking at getting a new touring bike...
Took a test ride on a F6 B, nice bike. I've hade other Wings... So maybe.
But today I took a test ride on a new Indian Chieftain. Well what can I say, the wife and I are picking our new Indian tomorrow afternoon  :)

Had one drve by the house earlier today, I got him to stop so I could check it out. Pretty impressive bike. He also checked out the valk and said he could have saved himself 20 grand had he known about valkyries 2 weeks ago. Congrats

What makes the Indian a "touring" bike compared to the Valkyrie?

You are never lost if you don't care where you are!

IMHO the latest attempt to finally get the Indian brand motocycle right is excellent.
The new engine looks close to the original sidevalve and the new looks are spot on.

I've been around long enough to remember the original Indians.  Back then they were Harley's competitor and now they're back.  Harley needs competition, they've been honking their own horn too long.

Would I buy it? No.    But that's just me.  Arthritis and a conservative money attitude due to retirement keeps me from buying any of the latest and greatest bikes out there.

BTW, Indian was originally called the Indian MOTOCYCLE company, a deliberate misspelling.

I've sat on them a few times and have a test ride coming up but no real intent on buying one any time soon.
You have to like the historic heavy valanced fender but i really like the Chieftain fairing - no HD knockoff and I've heard nothing but good things about the new Thunderstroke 111 engine.

The Indian forum seems as devoted tot heir new rides as most Valk riders are  :cooldude:
