I need a new front tire. Rear is an e3 less than 2k on it. Should I go with e3 on the front or is a different one ok? I tend to lean towards another e3. I haven't ever had problems with them.
Where to buy. Seems prices have gone up lately

Bighead

Personally I have never had an E3 that I liked but if you aren't having a problem with them why switch? It will not hurt anything to run a different front and rear though.

Consider a Metzler 880 for the front and I have good luck and currently have a Shinko S E 890 on the front of my I/S. BUT be forewarned-a Metz IS spendy. RIDE SAFE.

If you like your E3, you can keep your E3.

What tire do you have on the front now?

I hear that the Michelin Commander II is a very good tire.

Cups very little and long wearing. Can you attest to that?

I may buy one next time.

Been keeping at 40 PSI rigorously since the time I got the tire installed. No cupping at all and I still have about 3k-4k miles left on the treads. Beautiful handling on highways, tar snakes, grooved roads and absolutely wonderful on twisties with my rear CT.

I have a balding E3. Has been fine just worn out starting to make some noise. I usually replace them together but rear was replaced do to a puncture wound on the road the front was fine then and didn't see the need of over paying on vacation.

Making a bit of road noise Is no reason to replace unless you are having handling problems or the tire has tread down to the wear marks. The set I have on now makes some road noise especially in corners at hiway speed but still have over half tread left.
