Hot today in desert, low 100s. So I rode up to Idyllwild, Palm to Pines Hwy.  Nice 2 lane about 100 mi round trip.  Low 80s up high.  Great 2 lane road heading straight up in mtns about 3-4 miles from where I live.  Tight, twisting mtn roads right away for about 25 mi and then about 20 miles through pines and horse ranches before hitting really tight mtn twisties the last 5-6 miles into Idyllwild, a small mtn community with jazz festivals, arts, etc.  Nice to get out.

I made a couple short video clips in the past that summarize ride.  One of my favorites in the summer.  Close to home, challenging and great views.   Leave the desert behind for the mtns.

Yep it's getting hot here. Glad you were able to get out of it for a while :cooldude:

Nice ride.   :cooldude:

I found myself more than once wishing I were there with you.

Great Ride! Been on that road a few times myself, Idyllwild is a cool little mountain town. Only problem for a flatlander like me is that it's hard not to look at the scenery but with all those curves you have to pay attention to what your doing!

Donald, sorry we missed you. Four of us were there and my friend from Brasil was with me with his 2014 Valkyrie. We had breakfast in Oak Glen then rode to Idyllwild to hang out and relax. About 220 miles for us today. Stay cool on Monday.

HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY TO EVERYONE AND A HUGE THANK YOU TO ALL WHO HAVE SERVED AND ARE SERVING IN OUR ARMED FORCES!!

MIKE HAHN, MIRIAM, DOLOR AND ANGELA

BTW, DOLOR LOVES HIS NEW VALKYRIE. THIS IS HIS THIRD ONE. HE STILL HAS ALL OF THEM WITH HIS FIRST HAVING 300,000 MILES ON IT.

Sorry Donald, I'm really tired, there were six of us today. My brother and his wife too. Dolor really likes his bike and will have the Honda accessories he ordered on Tuesday, Tall windshield, passenger backrest, saddlebags and mounts and I believe something else. I will post pictures on Wednesday or so.

Didn't get the crap scared out of you this time. When I was last there with you a big truck was coming up the hill out of Palm Desert full out around a curve but staying on his side of the road

great video, but it reminded me immediately of the movie "It's a Mad,Mad,Mad,Mad World", after Jimmy Durante "kicks the bucket" and everyone is off to get to Santa Rosita...except for instead of going up the mountain they were coming down.

that truck did raise my pucker factor art.  i try to always stay on my side of the road, but like to use my entire lane entering and leaving turns, and when that guy came around i focused on inside of curve rather than the truck (go where you look).

I'd love to ride that road with you, but damn....I never saw so many tar snakes on one road.   :o
