Kick Stand Spring Bolt

bit me in the azz this morning. After a LOT of research and some shade tree trial and error AND the dealer being closed I figured out one or three things. NOWHERE could I find the length of that 6 M M bolt that tends to break-you KNOW-the one that holds the spring close to the kickstand switch. I found a hardened M-6 1.00 pitch by 45 length but it was a tad too short. So back to my local friendly hardware store and I found a machine bolt in M-6 1.00 pitch by 50 length. And THAT boys and girls is the ticket. One dollar and 10 cents later plus tax and a whole lotta sweat it's back together. I found a simple solution for getting that return spring back on the kickstand WITHOUT using nickels. I have 2 sets of the older style brake pliers. Could NOT get it situated with the lift and the wooden jack adapter in the way. Ground off the pivot rivet on the shorter of the 2 sets and let me tell ya that spring went WHERE it was sposed ta be slicker than snot on a doorknob.  I used the spring install side NOT the hook for brake spring removal. That little device now resides in the Valkyrie tool bag. The replacement bolt from Honda lists close to 5 bucks. Hope some of ya'll here find this helpful. RIDE SAFE.

Did the same thing with the brake pliers handle.
My bolt was bent with the spring still attached I noticed really light spring tension.
I'm thinking I bent the bolt rolling the jack under the bike.
