When stationed in Turkey living in downtown Ankara, we had a guy come around with a trained bear.  The poor thing was pathetic and losing hair, and underfed, and abused.  I took it a bucket of water and some fresh meat and he choked both down.  The asswipe owner wanted a handout and I gave him the finger.  (Very few know what that means over there)  No ASPCA over there, the alley cats were mean/feral enough to make you change sides of the street out walking (I crap you not).
