Yeah the one in Palm Springs is not a bad deal. Just needs belts changed. More stock than the others, and looks in really good shape. :cooldude:

"You looking for one Paxton? "
==================

I am a fan, but I've been there, done that.
I've owned 6 of them. Went solo from LA to upstate NY and back. The following year's trek was the same
but with 3 riders/-3 Wings. :)

These bikes are an undiscovered treasure. ;) A perfect replacement for a feeble Valkyrie rider.
They'll cruise at 105 MPH all day long. ;)  They'll keep up with the Valkyrie on the open road. :D

These are basically 2/3 of a Valkyrie.. Mechanically the same, just easier to maintain. :cooldude:
The "tank" is not a tank. That's were all the electrical system is housed along with storage compartment. ???

Like with all gold wings, the real gas tank is under your seat, givin' the bike a lower center of gravity. ;)
Great in the twisters. I prefer 1975-1977 because of the spoke wheels and the chrome fenders. :)

Lots of inexpensive parts and bling. ;)
SPECS: 999 CC box engine, four cylinders 4 carburetors; 77 HP; dry weight 590 lbs, quiet as the wind! :cooldude:

That one is a good deal. http://tampa.craigslist.org/hdo/mcy/4501204857.html

BTW; the most sought after is the 1976 LTD. It was built to celebrate America's birthday.
You can distinguish them by the gold wheels and root-beer color."

The ugliest part on all of them is the horrific big-screen-TV-lookin' tail light. :tickedoff:
IMO, the 79 is the ugliest of all. :2funny:

Gottcha...I have a 77 that is getting to be a hot rod bobber, and a 78 with a hack on it.  Seems everyone with two wheels in the garage is a flat 4 or 6....

Tank;
Look at these from my small collection. https://plus.google.com/photos/103917731019176896112/albums/5587554840223708305

WAY COOL! Beautiful bikes you've got there.  :cooldude:

I came across this one a few days ago. It looked brand new.

Paxton

Bugslayer;
That is the '76 bicentennial LTD model... with the golden wheels removed. :tickedoff:.

I just started my new addiction, GL1000's.

Picked up 3 in Fl this past Feb. that will turn into 1 rider and 2 parts bikes.

Picked up another, a runner, in April that is on it's way to becoming a Naked Wing/Bobber/Custom.

It's cool to see how systems have evolved on the GL1000's to the GL1500 & Valks.

The old Wings are tons of fun to work on and ride.

That Inlandempire one looks like a great deal.

Join NGW (Naked Gold Wings). It is free. http://www.ngwclub.com/ It is the coolest club I've ever joined. :angel:
You'd be surprised how much the shop talk is relevant to the Valk. ;)

Also the NGW photo gallery will show tons of pics., especially of the custom ones. :cooldude:

Another naked GW I'd consider is the 1984 GL1200 (last year of the STANDARD / first year of the 1200 cc engine and
the birth of the of the I/S, the Aspencade... etc. and the plastic was born. >:(
