I'm running a Yokohama with a nice pattern and good handling, but I want to lower the RPMs and improve the mileage for a long ride.  I lost at least 3-4 mpg with the 205-55 tire.  Want to ride at a good clip w/o getting close to 4000 rpm.  Was going to put on the Vredestein Sportrac 3 in 205-60 but it was last made in 2008 (per one seller who I don't trust) so the ones available now have been in storage for a while, drying out.  I looked on the Vredestein web site, it's not listed so yes it's out of production.  I've had tires fail from age, that were bought from Discount tire.  I made them replace them.

Really a bummer for me - this looked to be the perfect tire, after reading all the good reviews on it.  Now I need something like it, but still in production.

Yeah I know about the search function.  Used it already - been here since the beginning.  If you don't want to talk about the darkside, no need to preach to the choir.

I.ve heard good things about the general altimax, if you want to have a bigger impact on the rpm, go to the Austone taxi tire.

ive got the general altimax, 205 60 16, for my first darkside tire i have nothing to compare it to! no wobble at any speed, im getting 155 miles before reserve on my 98 tourer, 120 before i changed out my dirty air filter! im in the same boat as you mark and want to try the vredestein, only complaints on the altimax, would have to be the little more pressure on handle bars on the curves.
