Have yet to hear bout-the fine art of plastic sculpting.  :uglystupid2: Plastic has no soul. Metal on the other hand comes alive under the artists hands.  :cooldude: RIDE SAFE.

There was 2 separate posts that need to be put into context.

After riding Harley Road kings for the last 10 years, I decided to look at other bikes.  Found a 1999 Valkyrie Interstate on Craigslist and took it for a test ride.  I absolutely loved the smooth quiet acceleration.   Never rode a six cylinder motorcycle before.  WOW!!!!

2nd post it really proves Joe's point.

I've never seen so many of the '97-'03 Valkyries for sale since I discovered them.  There are 5 or 6 in a row in the classifieds right now. Going cheap too. Is it the end of an era? Are folks going for the new Valks? F6B's? Just something else?

I have owned my Valk for 11 years that is a pretty long time to stick with one vehicle. I wanted the new Valk but to be honest I don't think I could sell my original Valk. Its just to personal and took to much time to put together. I have seen people come and go on the boards. I have seen bikes come and go but like Joe said one buys one sells as long as its not totaled then someone new is getting to enjoy a beautiful bike. I wouldn't worry the demand is pretty high and the more people that want the original Valk the more pricey they will become. As is always the case when the new comes out many sell the old but we will see which really retains its value and demand. I would be really surprised if the style ever goes out plastic is cool but chrome is king.

And off I went to the classifieds looking for a bargain...

I paid $8999 tax, title, license, warranty, windshield, etc out the door for mine new 14 years ago...

And they're still listed in the classifieds for $5000-$10000 so I'm thinking...not going all that cheap! :)

Anyway...end of an era? Nah.
